Just saw the Nerd episode that has him beating Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and I was absolutely astonished he did not mention you. I thought for sure there would at least be a nod to the time both of you beat the game and cemented one of the most memorable and teary eyed moments in gaming history. Alas, it was not to be, and I lay here heartbroken, at the missed opportunity that could have been the feel-good moment of the year, showcasing the bond between two best friends and ending the episode with both of you beating the game.

Absolute classic Mike Rage at 2:07:49, a quick Awkward Look Monkey Puppet meme reaction, then breaks into a smile. It's funny to see how relaxed you are at the beginning of J&H, then quickly jumping to 4:23:50 to see how tense you become. I was crying with laughter at this point. When you're that concentrated, it's amazing what we'll shout to hold that focus - we don't even know what we're saying. It's like some variant of Tourette's, where we let go of control of our behaviour, so we can control what's going on in the game. Only the NES games manifested such behaviour, and it never went away since the 80s.

@@mikematei In that moment, it definitely made sense. A lot of other times though, we can shout the strangest things for no apparent reason. It's also the way it's done, that makes it the most entertaining, and you do it so well. Congrats on the game, Mike. Well done. I admire your persistence on such a difficult game to beat.

Everdrives aren't emulators really, not for the console itself anyways, they just deliver the game content to the console. Fpga is a hardware solution that can basically replicate a console harware, not emulate it through soffware like most emulators do.

High end pc emulation can have less lag than the real thing thanks to high refresh rate vrr monitors acting as quick frame transport enabling faster scanout, frame delay, runahead, beam racing(WinUAE only so far) etc. I wont elaborate too much on it because youtube keeps auto-marking my comments as spam

And so everything comes full circle: by getting the good and bad ending on the NES version as well as the bad and now the good ending on the Famicom version, you have done everything there is to be done in Jekyll & Hyde so you don't have a reason to play this game ever again....unless you are in the mood for it, of course. I find it kinda neat that getting those endings happened in various eras of your stream: the first time you beat the NES version was in 2015 during the "couch and helicopter camera view" phase, finishing the NES version and beating the Famicom version for the first time happened during the "couch and side view camera era" and now this one happened during the modern Mike Matei era of "chair and side view" phase. Regarding the other game, I wonder whether this being a cute version of Splatterhouse is the reason why it was released on Famicom since the main Splatterhouse series was not released on any Nintendo consoles. Also surprised that Namco was the developer because at first glance the Splatterhouse games does not seem like your typical Namco fare. Game that is missing from your Games I've Beaten ON Stream list: -Jumping Flash! (Playstation 1)
