The game itself is awesome. It really improves the Conviction game play. However, what kind of disappointment about the game is some of the mechanics could be refined. They can also follow the classic example of the original Splinter Cell games where players have the ability to shoot the Five-Seven and the alternate weapon while doing wall climbing. It's only suggestion to make the game continue its legacy.

I love how much of a Conviction-Chaos Theory hybrid this game's turning out to be. I hated that black and white stuff from Conviction but I loved the action in it. This looks like the true next gen Chaos Theory.

I'm so glad to be seeing people getting excited for this game. When it was first announced, all I saw was people complaining about the voice actor and the lack of shadows, all over 7 minutes of a several hour long game. The more content I see of this game, the more compelled I feel to pre-order it! Looks awesome. :D

I'm assuming that the goggles don't actually glow, but they are glowing so the player can know where fisher is if they put the brightness and contrast to a more realistic setting; and maybe it's just a signature for style.

This is what I found in the video: Kills give you 1/4 execute Headshot give you 1/2 execute (Base on extend walkthrough) Sticky shocker give you 1/2 execute (Or at least from Trirotor) Hand to Hand (Both lethal and non-lethal) give execute You press the LB to ready throw, and you can canel throw with B. Pistol now have limited ammo. (Like the pre-Conviction games) That's all for now!

We are not actually sure if they will reward the player for being stealthy or not. You see all those points for the knock outs and kills? Well what happens if they add a large bonus for enemies that were unaware of your presence and oblivious to you passing them in the level. This would reward stealth and if the points are spent on upgrades then it is a definite must for the game. Maybe they could have separate skill trees for each archetype and different points for different methods.

i understand what you said, and agree with you up to a certain point. but watch centerstrain01's videos on "Splinter Cell" (the first game) and "Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow", and you will very easily see how varied and different the AI is (and how easily you can get caught [by the bad-guys]) in those two games, compared to [the AI [and how easily and/or difficultly you can get caught] in] "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory" or all the other Splinter Cell games that came after Chaos Theory.

In a first person shooter focused on action... I would totally agree with you in that sense, but what you dont see is that games like splinter cell and assassin's creed are supposed to be stealth oriented. For a STEALTH game, STEALTH should be the preferred option. If you make a player feel more "badass" doing stealth in a stealth game, you add more ghost options and cool stealth takedowns that "work" to make it into a good stealth game. Which this game did a good job of inputing.

Assault being easier than stealth isn't a mistake, that's how it should be. Anyone can get through the level guns blazing, killing everyone. The stealth should be more difficult, sneaking around enemies, deciding who to take out and who not to, finding a way to get around without being spotted, with the benefit being the satisfaction of having just pulled off a successful stealth mission.

Look, I played CT, but not the first 2 ones, and in that game you had a different statistic that showed you if a body was found, and even if it was, you could still get 0 detections, not 100% score, but still, no detections. And you would only find out your score and percentage by the end of the mission, maybe his score will be affected by the mission's status report. I do agree that the game director doesn't know what ghosting is, for me is passing without nobody even knowing you were there

On one side you have unreal stuff (overpowered tools, extremely agile character) on another real-like stuff (sound simulat

Splinter Cell is (was) an stealth action game. The only way of evolution, which can be is the evolution of stealth. This includes the new tricks, better AI, much bigger levels etc. I understand that if Thief 4 was developed by Ubisoft, they would give Garrett an AK 47 and send to do some "Modern Warfare", but it's not an evolution. Fortunately, Thief is in good hands of smart people. They already said that they going to make an awesome game without "assault" options or some "adaptations".

I agree with your comments and description, but you should try playing "Splinter Cell" (the first game) or "Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow", if you want to see some REAL stealth-gaming. (Or at the very least watch centerstrain01's videos. He's got some REALLY AWESOME videos on those two games (and on "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory", which is the third game, and was also -- you will notice -- the one that started putting more-"action" into the mix)).
@SemanticV0id12 жыл бұрын
I didn't see a significant difference in difficulty between stealth and assault, for those of you who are complaining. Assault is sloppy and can get you killed against tougher enemies. Stealth requires finesse, and I'd feel much more satisfaction after getting through an area stealthily. The Assault path looks fun, but messing with the enemies and clearing an area completely undetected looks like way more fun.
@brunogonz8612 жыл бұрын
I did see some of his videos on SC1, but the AI's on those games were harder to bypass because they could see you a mile away and already know it's a spy. CT's easier, but it's beacuse it's more real. If a soldier sees a shadow passing for a second, he's not going to yell "Enemy intruder!" and sound an alarm, that would then fail the mission. And even though it's more realistic, no AI is perfect, in any genre actually, that's why it's called Artificial Intelligence. It's artificial, not human.

I hate the one-button cover change thing and the enemy alert marker every companies are putting in their "stealth" games. I remember the first time I played Chaos Theory, I would stay in dark corners for minutes because I don't know if I'll be back into the shadows before the enemies turn around. I like how they make the sonar goggle's image disappears after a few seconds, would be better if the enemy silhouette doesn't move, though.
@JediMasterLego12 жыл бұрын
or out of the corner of their eye, for that matter. (remember that part in the "Ghost-playthrough" video of Blacklist (this one "watch?v=jwpUzS8bJgw", where there was a bad-guy trying out a assault-rifle (looked like an AK-47) at a shooting-range, and from where Sam was [and the bad-guy was at and [the direction he (the bad-guy)] was looking at], the bad-guy could very easily see him out of the corner of his eye (if this was happening in-real-life).

I don't really understand the thing with people using the aggressive guns blazing method if they don't like it, or why they don't use non-lethal if they prefer it over lethal stealth. Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to play by those rules. Play by your rules, it's a game. Make the best of it for what you think is fun, not for what simply works. I play it as a stealthy character only because I find it more fun, not because it's necessarily the most effective. Think for yourself.

My personality very much favours the panther playstyle, however, in the original games my decision of whether or not to spare lives was largely dependent on story factors. For instance, the Chinese soldiers were not really "my enemy", they were just between me and my objective, so incapcitating them made sense. If your opponents in this game are terrorists, and will not be captured afterwards (ie you're not the vanguard of an assault), then sparing them seems like a dumb idea.

I read through the list of comments both negative and positive. Honestly yes things have dramatically changed from Chaos Theory I will agree there, but would we rather have no change? Evolution is about change, some adapt to that change quicker than others, and some would rather flat oppose change. Now given the way blacklist seems to be, you are all seeing a person play it "Their" way, and you do not have to do it their way nor will anyone force you to, as will anyone tell you to buy it.
