Everything in this trailer was better than the finished game. Sonar looked 100x better, the camera actually moved with Sam's body with every step, animations look way smoother and transition much better, the interrogation and disguise mechanics were completely thrown away, the graphics look better, and the entire idea of "calling for support as the leader of 4th echelon" was also completely scrapped. It's like half the game was taken away

Splinter Cell Blacklist WILL have player choice. It will cater to stealth fans, actions fans, and in-between. I don't know if you've seen the Ghost playthrough of this mission, it's pretty neat. You can get upgrades for weapons and outifts, and customize them according to your play style. MGS Ground Zeroes looks pretty badass too.

Whislte while hanging from a ledger to lure an enemy over so you can grab him and throw him to the ground and his death. I recognize this feature from the Assassin's Creed series. But I don't see why they shouldn't be implemented in a Splinter Cell game since it is an obvious thing to do in many cases when you're engaged in combat with a strong need for stealthy actions. Eagle vision. Well a lot of games use this now a days and it can be discussed how realistic they are. Obviously there already exists SOME degree of Eagle Vision-like technology already in use in battle fields around the globe. Infra red night vision is also a form of Eagle Vision after all. - From what I hear you can choose to turn off Eagle Vision (I don't know the term for this feature in the Splinter Cell game series as I haven't played them yet; I'm a poor man, regrettably) if you find it to be too fantastic for the game to give you a reasonable sense of realism. Alternatively I take it you can simply opt to not use it even if it's available. - In Assassin's Creed Eagle Vision is necessary, but then, the AC se univers is not completely realistic. Speaking of realism, I wonder how far the Splinter Cell main character can jump, and if he can survive 15 feet falls unto a fundament of concrete, whether he uses roll fall technique or not? If such features are used in the Splinter Cell series I'd make the assumption that technology is implemented to help the character pull them off rather than simply giving him super human powers and abilities (even though some of the abilities of the highest trained soldiers will appear as something like super human to many common people). I'd love to play this Splinter Cell game (I've actually wanted to check out this game series for years), and I'm tempted to actiually make a purchase, but I'm going to make some checking into reviews and overall player consensus reading discussions on message boards before I make a final decision. I have to be careful with the close to absent economy I now enjoy, and Ubisoft games have had their issues (to put it mildly) - even with my all time favorite game series, Assassin's Creed - for quite a few years now. I must assume that you're professional enough to not take offense from what I just said. And after all, judging from the latest news I've heard about Ubisoft, you've decided to now go back to emphasizing customer satisfaction through delivering games that work, just as much as you emphasize being in the lead among those who produce next gen innovative games with top notch graphics and content that is both entertaining and intelligent. And... I salute you on that! Way to go, Ubisoft! :)
@VladProdigious9 жыл бұрын
EddieTheBunny Ubisoft made the same game with different skins long before I even played the first Assassin's Creed game, so don't hang that on me. You can't blame a guy for checking out new games. How was I supposed to know they did this? I had to see for myself or hear it from someone else. You're the first to point it out, and I happen to agree, but I had no way of knowing until I saw it for myself. I even asked, nobody mentioned this. So quit blaming me for what Ubisoft does, that's just absurd.

What was once great is now watered down to some mediocre, conformed and casual thing called action-stealth. You're passing off regress for progress, stripping down the game off its unique features and replacing it with casual gameplay and terrible menus to compensate you're weak approach. You should combine assassins creed and splinter cell for future releases, but wait, make it two games so you can squeeze more money out of it.
@VladProdigious9 жыл бұрын
+XXX YYY Check out the news about the upcoming Assassin's Creed game. Ubisoft is going to give it time so they can make sure it works before it gets released. To me that sounds like they're finally beginning to listen to the critique that they've received over the past years. As for Splinter Cell Blacklist, I can't say if it's watered down or just 'empty entertainment' as I haven't played it. My immediate impression though, is that it isn't a game that focuses on depth through ideological questions, it's main purpose is to give the player a thorough wartime specialist fighting experience. The two games do make use of some of the same features, but to merge them in any way beyond that would be a mistake (I know you're kidding about this, but still) because AC is meant to be realistic while it does pose existential and moral questions and invites the player to think beyond his daily routines of his overall superficial existence.

They did the same thing in Halo 4. They had to use a new guy for Master Chief's movements because they are using motion capture. However, they still managed to keep the original voice actors for both Cortana and Chief. Ubisoft still could have used Ironside for Sam Fisher. But, they wanted to use the voice from the guy physically acting and Ironside doesn't want to physically act.

Look at the videos released on HaloWaypoint. The voice actors were NOT doing the motion capture. Two different actors were. And if Ironside couldn't, then I apologize for misinforming. My point was that I don't really care about the change in voice acting (everyone retires at some point) compared to the removal of stealth features throughout the series, such as runspeed mattering because of how loud your footsteps are, or lightlevel having a greater range than "they can or can't see you". And did you just call the main character Tom?

yeh, that's true. Conviction seemed like the end of Fisher's story. He served his country well, reunited with his daughter and live happily every after. A new agent trained by Fisher himself should have been introduced in the game while Fisher becomes the voice in the ear like Lambert. Everything would've synced well and there would be minimal problems with fans here. Idk maybe in the next SC; they might but for now i'll accept it for what it is and it's amazing.

I didn't mean new in gaming history.What I meant was that it's new to have in a Splinter Cell game. The point with my comment is that it's just good that there isn't only the same thing through out the whole game. That they instead have both some classic Splinter cell stealth and this new type of stealth that they have in this game plus that they sometimes even have things like that drone. Hopefully they've made the game so you can choose between being stealthy and not stealthy at most parts.

The reason it is named Splinter Cell is because there is still splinter cell agents in Conviction and it still revolves around Third Echleon. Splinter Cell means- Small, Sharp & Deadly which Conviction presented well and this will too. There is no way to change the title ince the game still revolves around all that like I stated before; these games are still amazing. If you guys are waiting then you will be kept waiting forever and it's not going to change. Accept it & move on.

Actually, while the light meter is binary, the light detection, in Blacklist, isn't. An enemy might start to see you and investigate, they might be sure they saw something, but not shoot at it, they might be oblivious. It's like in SCDA, you had to light meter, but you had to use some common sense with light and stuff,

They should really design missions with different rules of engagement that will force us in a way to be more like the old games where you couldnt afford to kill someone. They did a little bit of that in conviction but they should balance it out more or bring different dynamics to the levels.

I think having a tactical choice is a good Idea. It's more realistic, adds replay value, and makes you think and make decisions. The other Splinter Cells were fun and interesting but were far too linear. At first I was bothered by the change of voice actor (I like the actor who's playing Sam I was just bothered by the voice). Then I decided it was just a change like the change for Sean Connery to Roger Moore. Different but still good. Nostalgia fans are gonna cry but I'm just gonna enjoy.

Everyone keeps complaining about stealth! Different situations call for different tactics. Hes still discreet and does not call huge amounts of attention on himself. the game won't be bad per se, it is just that old school Splinter Cell fans are disappointed by all of the non-stealth elements that are being added to this game. The Splinter Cell Series has always been know for it' stealth. If you go back and play the previous Splinter Cell games, you will see how different it is. This is the only Splinter Cell game with so many destructive options.They're doing it to attract a wider audience, but have promised that the stealth will still be there.I hope so!

Yes,they have stated that they hired Eric for more fluidity, But I am just stating a possibility that if,instead, Ironside himself would have decided to retire, would you still force him to do Sam's voice?
