I'm really liking the direction they're taking with this. I remember when I was younger, I really wanted to get into Chaos Theory, but the gameplay did have a certain clunkiness to it, but here the gameplay looks super smooth, and gives us a lot of options, and could appeal to a very wide variety of gamers.

Mossad does deploy team operatives like Agent One and Agent Two / Archer and Kestrel. I never said anything about Mossad or anyone else posting on KZbin. I guess what I'm saying is, the daytime missions are a cool change of pace in addition to the nighttime missions. It'll be a challenge to move silently and invisibly in broad daylight. You'll be force to use cover, create distractions, and stay above or below the enemy forces. No hate, I was just saying that this seems awesome.

I know you can, the difference is that in the past games, breaking stealth and being seen by the enemy was a huge risk. It was almost an immediate game over on the harder difficulties. In this one, it's not as much of a threat since being aggressive is one of the playstyles you can use. It makes the stealth aspect less risky and breaks the tension. If you can easily just kill some guy that sees you when you are trying to sneak by him, it breaks the immersion.

I started on Double Agent, and I have no problem with the way these things are turning. I really like how they're making it so you can play how YOU want. It's your choice. If someone is like any of us, they'll love playing the stealth campaign on the hardest difficulties. And if they're the traditional Call of Duty kind of gamer, then that's great too. What other old-school Splinter Cell fans don't realize, is the more the gameplay is expanded, the more, better exposure the franchise gets.

I tend to lean more towards the panther style also, but I mix up a little ghost in there too.Never assault.Only if i'm in a situation where I have been seen and cant escape. I really don't mind them having the assault style in there though cuz it gives you more options in different sitiuations.

I've used the shotgun, 40mm, and grenades perfectly fine in many of my CT playthroughs (over 20), and the point is they were there; whether they were buggy for you or not, the game accommodated a more forceful approach. Conviction also had missions where you were not allowed to kill people, or be detected, with alarms bringing in up to triple the guards in the room, and on the hardest difficulty you die in 3-5 shots. Blacklist APPEARS to accommodate both stealth and action, so choose stealth.

Conviction is nothing like Chaos Theory. No sound indicator. No moving bodies. Linear levels. No useful gadgets. Making noise is no longer a constant threat, it's actually somewhat encouraged. The "execute" feature, while cool at times, completely removes the challenge of "stealth" in that game. Go into room, melee a guy, execute the rest and move to the next corridor. Rinse and repeat. They took a gigantic leap back with the stealth gameplay and took a decent step up in TPS qualities.

I agree with you, the only thing i didn't like about Conviction was the decsion to get rid of Thermal and Night Vision for Sonar, made it too easy to know where enemies are around you. Although Sonar is still in this, at least from it looks like there may be the old Nightvision/Thermal options too.

Listen to what i said. Its made like that so it forces you to do stealth, it forces you to play the game its meant to be played. And to be honest if you go on a rooftop out in the open with enemies around them, i dont think you can kill them faster then they can kill you. But Sam can suddenly do that.

When this game was first announced i had plenty of concerns but figured they'd do a good job and later when we knew more about it that those concerns (largely stealth) wouldn't be anything to worry about. This game now looks brilliant and i can't wait to play it! It's a shame about Ironside though but the new guy sounds a little similar and i'm still gonna love the game xD

Im a long term SC game since the first one, and I cant wait for the release of this game. Yeah, traditional Splinter Cell was for strictly stealth, but just like bands grow, I love seeing how Ubisoft progresses my favorite franchise. This game almost feels like a reboot due to Sams change of voice, but its not, and its a straight sequal to Conviction. Above all, they are giving us that Chaos Theory feel in this one as well as a Conviction feel. I am a true fan and this game WILL be great.

I never said I wanted more action in the game, but the action is there and I have the capacity to enjoy it, even if it's not -exactly- what I want. Would I prefer a more stealth-focused Splinter Cell? Most definitely. But even Chaos Theory gave you the ability to smash your way through levels with Redding's assault loadouts if you wanted to; you know, the under-barrel shotgun mount, 40mm grenade launcher, the fragmentation grenades, etc; not to mention 1-button close-quarter takedowns.

They had that system in Conviction as well. It's not a bad system at all, the entire game is quite fun. The main problem is the attached Splinter Cell to what could have been it's own franchise.

Have you played any of the previous splinter cells? Specifically Chaos Theory? If you haven't try them out and you'll see what I mean. Like I said, it's not a bad game, it just didn't feel like a splinter cell game. They took away so many stealth elements and made it more of an action game to appeal to a larger audience. It made the game less enjoyable for myself and for many long-time fans.

As someone who loves the old Splinter Cell games, I really liked Conviction, and I am liking the look of this one; hiding bodies, shooting out lights, and playstyle-specific loadouts are all good things to see back in the game. I'm not fond of what they did to Sams character, but it wont hinder my enjoyment of the gameplay. If I want slow, tactical, methodical Sam, I can just play Chaos Theory; it's still fucking amazing; the creation of these faster games didn't nullify that games existence.

I don't recall anywhere in my comment saying he had to like the game, or that I expected him to agree with me; the dude likes what he likes, just as I do. I love that everybody enjoys different things; it's why we have so much variety. What I don't appreciate is people acting like their opinion is the only correct one, and having them try to stifle the opinions of others just because they don't agree. You said it yourself, opinions breed variety; trying to hide dissenting views does only harm.

There will be a Coop mode that utilizes the same engine and graphics as the single player and relates to the main story, seeing as you play as Sam (Player 1) and Briggs (player 2) Confirmed in an article that there are 14 missions for this mode... Whether or not there will be a simulation type deniable ops mode is still being questioned, but I don't believe you will be disappointing.

No the real challenge was always the gunplay. The flaw with the highest potential with Blacklist is not that it may be easy when sneaking in broad daylight rather what happens when you do get spotted. Hopefully, the ai will be challenging in terms of the actual firefight unlike conviction.

Well it would kinda be more 2 re-runs, at least for me as 1 playstyle is full action, one is full stealth, the other is a bit of both, and once I've done both extremes i don't feel the need to do a bit of both. Personally anyway.

They're expanding on chaos theory...you can still play the game like chaos theory, they just wanna give you more options so that more people will buy the game, which is a perfectly respectable marketing method, as long as the ghost play style stays true to the first 4 games (not so much Conviction). I think ubisoft is making a conscious effort to do that, so I can't wait for this game. I just hope it's longer than any SC game. The first 5 can all be done in under 6 hours.

I miss the rappelling (I'll give you that one). I miss hiding in shallow water and pulling your enemies in to drown them. I miss throwing beer cans in people's heads to knock them out. What made Splinter Cell great was that it was a realistic approach on the spy genre you had to be careful and stay hidden in the dark the AI was incredibly intelligent and you didn't have every gun to your disposal you had to use stealth this game gives you options but because of those options the stealth aspect seems to have wasted away their making it more an action game than a stealth game and that's not what Splinter Cell is the fun part about Splinter Cell was it was challenging

Ubisoft really blew it, Blacklist would have been an absolutely perfect opportunity to retire Sam Fisher as a main character, when you consider them wanting to have motion capture/voice acting to be done by the same person, and the story closure in Conviction. Instead, they decided to make Sam even younger and more athletic, and remove all of the character that came with Michael Ironside's voice. They could have still alienated the older fans, but at least kept Sam's legacy intact.
