Sadly Ubisoft changed Splinter Cell into an action game. Splinter Cell-Double Agent are games that are stealth that we remember. Blacklist brings back it kinda, but the player can play it as an action game too. Today kids want action.
@Shittyrapper
@Shittyrapper 2 жыл бұрын
Blacklist gives you points for every enemy you leave untouched it doesn’t kind of bring stealth back it’s a full blown stealth game. Just because the game gives you more actiony options doesn’t take away from that. Just restrict yourself to a ghost playstyle where you try to sneak through areas without taking out a single enemy and you’ll see what I mean.
@sayxxdx
@sayxxdx 2 жыл бұрын
In this one, Sam lost his daughter and isn't tied to the government. He's free to act on his own impulses, his anger. The game is meant to match his mood and the story, the settings. He's vengeful and doesn't care how he does it, he wants answers. I think it was intentional even if it strayed from the original path, but that's how things flow from one creek to another. Plus with Blacklist you get rewarded way more if you play like a Ghost and only do the necessary objectives without disturbing hostiles.
@Snyper1405

Sucks how literally everyone and their mother is asking Ubisoft to make a new Splinter Cell game and they just don't give a shit. So tone deaf that they made Ghost Recon Breakpoint into a looter shooter cause Tom Clancy's Division did so well they have to copy the method and port it over. Too bad how Ubisoft cares more about money than the artistic value of the games they make. It took immense backlash for them to basically add the original style gameplay for Breakpoint but at that point most people who were interested left. Kinda sad because eventually Ubisoft will have nothing left to give if their endgame is just making money, cause they'll look back to those shelves fills with games they couldn't sell and wonder what happened.

The titles before Splinter Cell: Conviction (such as Pandora Tomorrow, Double Agent) will really get you MGS vibes for their stealthy possibilites (and necessities from time to time) but I think they're hard to get nowadays because they're old, Conviction is a good one but it's heavily action oriented and the last one to this day, Blacklist, really is the embodiment of the series, for as I know you can choose your path, your way of completing the mission and the replayability is kind of crazy
@herbthymeyt
@herbthymeyt Жыл бұрын
Blacklist is probably the best place to start. Stories are usually independent between games, and Blacklist is decently easy while still offering enough of a challenge. It also offers the most variety with playstyles. Past that, it has LOTS of replayability. When you're done with Blacklist, go to Conviction if you prefer cinematics & stealth kills over proper sneaking. Otherwise, for pure stealth, I'd recommend Chaos Theory, often regarded as the best game in the franchise. Slower pacing, but it focuses a lot more on stealth. Pandora Tomorrow & the original Splinter Cell are also slower paced, but the most outdated. Double Agent also exists as a decent stealth option, but it's (in my opinion) the worst stealth-oriented Splinter Cell title.

It doesn't have a non-lethal knockout or a 100% checklist like Chaos Theory and Double Agent have. But a game on its own, its really great and is a very cinematic and story based game. I find stances like these kind of annoying. As the story of a game progresses, the style of gameplay may change as well. It should be the story that dictates gameplay and not the other way around. In this instance, Sam is angrier than ever and with his hands not tied behind his back almost at all it makes perfect sense that the violence is more prevalent. That's exactly what I liked about Conviction: less nonsense.
