Yea this was a great video, still resent this game though lol. Like it's good, definitely not a bad game, but even in this video there are forced sequences in which you need to knock out enemies. That's always been an element in Splinter Cell games, the guy in the lighthouse in Chaos Theory for example, but there are far more in this game. There are also parts where I rolled my eyes at the ai. The detection meter effectively fills up, and to the credit of this youtuber he escapes in that split second, but it's still ridiculous he wasn't spotted. Several parts too, like at 1:26:44, where I've tried that my self and it didn't go nearly as smooth. Still believed I pulled that off back in the day but whoever designed and tested that, and figured that was a good stealth section is an idiot. Like the polish on the stealth, ai and pathfinding just wasn't there in this game. The depth of stealth is severely limited, no light or sound meter, just the lights on Sam Fisher. The over reliance on cover based stealth, sliding from cover to cover isn't my thing either. I like it as a mechanic, but it doesn't make for interesting level design and kills the atmosphere when the levels look so video gamey. It's a good mechanic to have as an option but shouldn't be your main option to get around enemies. I really think this game missed the mark in terms of quality. The story is cliche and uninteresting IMO, the voice acting is also uninteresting, the level design is basic, the score is really disappointing especially when you go back and compare it to Chaos Theory, and the visuals are too cartoony for a game of this genre, I feel it should look more realistic because Splinter Cell always felt believable and grounded in reality in the past. Hopefully if they make another Splinter Cell game they go back to their roots and emulate a lot of what they did in Chaos Theory, and if they can some who make Sam slightly more agile as they did in the newer games but still have it feel realistic, I would be very happy. Btw sorry for the rant, but you nailed it with your comment, as too many people think ghosting means knocking people out for some reason. Like, if you wanted to be a ghost a lethal approach would be better than to leave witnesses lol.

Blacklist is still the prettiest girl at prom to me. I remember being blown away by the trailers for it--how could graphics be that good, animation that smooth? I love how, similarly to Chaos Theory, when Sam gets close to an enemy he becomes noticeably wary and places his feet more carefully. I could have sworn there were a hundred animations for melee kills from cover, and the fact that blood could spatter on the environment was jaw-dropping.

If you're struggling on the 24:30 part, which I did so many times, I got an easier and faster way to do this part. 23:52 make sure to be crouched before you go through the door and crouch run through the counter window to the left, keep crouch running a bit to the left side of the room and then down into the lighted hallway and straight to the door that's on the right, surprisingly enough the 2 guards chatting don't hear you running and they got like a SLIM chance of detecting you, they only spotted me like 20% of the time but I think that was because I ran a bit too close to the window, so as I said stick to the left side of the next room when you crouch run. Now go through the door (I think if you crouch run slam through the door you can do this still undetected but I'd advise not to do it) and crouch run all the way to nearly the end, there is a guard in the other room in the middle of the hallway you see him through window which he never saw me once but he hears your footsteps but that's 100% fine, there's an open door to the right near the end of the hallway, go in there to hide behind the counter window. Now here's the annoying part, I've noticed the guy that's back here spawns in random places, sometimes he's in the back room to the left looking possibly where you went through the door or he's guarding the open double doorway where you need to get to those stairs, if he's in the 2nd location by the doors that's the better location maybe? never did test it when he was in the back room but if he's at the doorway he should immediately turn and start walking towards the hallway you crouch ran through, literally the second he goes past your counter window, jump through crouch walk for like a second and then crouch run for those stairs, the guy who goes to that location at 24:30 should only briefly see you but not detect you. Also, you probably won't have the Crossbow so use the Stun gun instead at 26:43 three shots for the last three guards. I did this and got Ghost gold at the end of the mission. Bit more advise don't bother spending your money on the plane, put it towards getting the Crossbow Sleeping Darts, I was short on some $ cos I bought 3 plane upgrades. Sorry if what I typed might be confusing but I seriously hope it helps someone else with that part that I struggled with.

Honestly this game is underrated. Sure, I WAY prefer the hardcore style of Chaos Theory, ( and consider that to be one of the best linear games of all time) but Blacklist was a step in the right direction compared to Conviction, although playing the Spec-Ops missions in that game was pretty good fun. Here's hoping they make the next Splinter Cell game with Photorealistic Graphics, a hybrid stealth/light/dark and movement system based on Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, take-downs and maybe some movement options from Blacklist, realistic weapon handling, ballistics, suppressor function, different ammo types (Supersonic vs Subsonic, adding to the stealth factor) and much more. The suits from Blacklist are also great, and at least some of them should make an appearance, and should also be upgradable IMO so the beginning suits don't become obsolete as fast. Also, MORE SNIPERS PLS.
