Me and my friends inspired by a certain old barbarian with denture issues once had a oneshot where we played old retired adventures who had grown tired of the pensionist life and set out for one last grand adventure and go out in a blaze of glory. Didn't work out as intended, turned out a barbarian with backproblems, a demented wizard, a rouge in a wheelchair and a warlock who kept misspronouncing his invocations somehow managed to save the realm and defet the BBE without to many issues.

My greatest accomplishment was getting a quote from my post in a forum quoted in an article on Slate after Gary Gygax died. I told the story of my bard who was slain by a dragon. 2nd addition... my kit let me give a death speech. It ended with 'Am I to have no breath'. I managed to taunt the dragon into breathing on me instead of everyone else which gave the rest of the party a fighting chance. (The rest of the quote was about escapism in general). /My cat never ate dice, but he used to eat tinsel off the Christmas tree. That did not come out well on the other side.
