I love how they show the difference between Vulcan and Human emotions. Vulcan emotions are explosive, intense, and difficult to control. Human emotions are constantly present, ever shifting, yet they are manageable even at their most intense. Human emotions are easier to manage, whereas Vulcan emotions are nearly impossible to manage and must be suppressed.

So Vulcans have teenage hormones for their entire lives, and need to suppress them as a result. That may be the reason they are also so long lived

Well that explains Romulans. Their whole soviety is based around fear of being invaded and counqerd. That fear is so intense they carved an Empire simply to feel more safe

It's funny: I used to think that Vulcans suppressing their emotions was a bad thing and I always wanted Spock to show more emotion because he is part human. But after seeing this episode, I realize he was better off stoic, as are Vulcans in general.
