Most of the time the siblings or relatives of the main cast are incidental side characters that don’t do much outside of existing, unless they are important for plot convenience. Sybok is not your typical random relative, he’s Spock’s half brother who happens to be a full blooded Vulcan that not only relishes being emotional and being ostracized from Vulcan society, but he also forcefully mind melds with others to convert them to his ‘cause’ of seeking some meaning or ultimate purpose to existence instead of leaving others to their own free will to determine their lives. Sure, he’s like the Anti-Spock, and narratively it makes slot of sense to given Spock even more motivation to be ‘as Vulcan as he can be’ besides the taunting he received in childhood, but to make Spock’s long lost brother a super villain terrorist is pretty shocking. That kind of stuff is usually reserved for Evil Twins like Lore and Thomas Riker.

In fact, quite a while afterward, I saw one on Ebay, and it appealed to me. I had remembered seeing one of the old packages at Kroger. There was only one left. I then found a couple, at a drug store. All three packages were rock hard. I sent them in & sure enough, they sent the device back, along with the note. It seemed to be a different model. Instead of the sliding door, it had a removable cap. It had a wide platform & opening, that was powered by a rubber band.

Lovely as always! Thanks! I honestly feel it makes the most sense that the Enterprise-A is the renamed USS Yorktown. Otherwise, it would be a total waste to decommission the ship only 7 years (2286-2293, or something) after its launch if it were new.
@dougc1903 жыл бұрын
I disagree it's the Yorktown because of that name is as famous as Enterprise... But you look at world war II ships like the Alaska class and some of the others like that they were barely in service five years and we're retired
@pepperVenge3 жыл бұрын
@@dougc190 That's because those ships were built specifically for war. When the war ended, they didn't need that many ships, which is why they were decommissioned so early. The Federation wasn't at war, so why build a new ship only to decommission it 7 years later? Also, the time between the destruction of the Enterprise 1701, and the launch of the 1701-A was probably not enough time to build a brand new ship. And the Constitution class was an out dated design by 2286. Starfleet had better designs by then. If they had built a new Enterprise, it would have likely been an Excelsior class, which is exactly what happened in 2293, which is why they decommissioned the Enterprise-A. Its for that reason I strongly believe the Enterprise-A is the renamed Yorktown.

The marshmelons were produced via genetic engineering. Genetic engineering is explicitly banned in the Federation, still feeling the sting of the Eugenics Wars. So when word got out that Kirk had approved the genetically-altered marshmelons, he was taken out of the field and put back behind a desk as punishment.
