I’m sure in the directions it says to attach your positive first. It’s fairly important for any automotive Electricle accessories and I’m sure the chips in that expensive unit would be better off also! But super cool setup! Edge needs to add this to the CS monitor series!

Just make sure and leave plenty of extra wire to allow removing the fuse box cover when needed, which means 1-2 feet of spare wire/cable since wiring comes in on both sides of box.

Looking at that for my Tundra, my only concern is that it is physically in the way of the airbag. Zero concern of it blocking the airbag but more 1 less projectile coming at me when it does deploy.....hopefully never

There are other Mounting options, you can put this thing virtually anywhere you wish!

Is there any other way to feed it into the cabin with out cutting the grommet? I always get that aching feeling that water will get in as soon as I do that.

There may be another grommet you could tap into but we found the best method is this grommet in the video. As long as your cut is small enough for the wire to pass through, you will not get any leaks! For reassurance, apply some silicone around the cut once you mount/run everything to your interior to ensure a full seal!

so a lot of lights now come with not only on/off but DRL like the KC ditch lights I just got. it comes with a 3-way rocker switch to connect them to that selects on or off or DRL. how would this unit select on/off/DRL vs just on/off? i know it has dim and strobe feature and all that but i'm not seeing DRL.

I do not know for sure if it has a DRL mode or not, I know a lot of lighting solutions at the time of this video really didn't have a backlight/DRL option so I imagine the system didn't come ready for that feature. It may have an updated model today though since DRL is becoming more relevant!

Does the spod sense 14.4 volts to know if the motor is running? While its nice to be able to have power even if motor is not running having a logic circuit or true switched ignition input sensor can be value added in some cases.

It has a low voltage shut off so that after a user defined voltage usually 11 volts it will power everything down to save your battery to start the engine. Or from at flat battery if it is axulary. :)

I use the same RAM mount to mount a much heavier tablet to my dash in my boat. When pounding the waves, I have never had it come free. RAM mounts are amazing.
