That surprised me they allowed passangers to cross the tracks . 8 Carriage trains. Excellent video.

I wonder if they do 'allow' that though? Was it just a passenger doing what he did?

Pretty sure the DEMU class 207 came from Portsmouth Harbour and not Basingstoke as it has headcode 87. I grew up in Portsmouth and recall there was one daily weekday departure around 3:30PM to Yeovil Junction from Portsmouth. Like I say headcode 87 is the reasoning to suggest, great clip non the less, thanks for sharing.

You are most likely correct.....I think it returned to Basingstoke....... and many thanks for watching and best regards....Mark

5:30 buffet car! Never bloody open. I rode dozens of trips on this line. Probably remember one or two times the buffet was actually open and serving. Also, a 33 hauling? A rare sight indeed.

@djsmeguk The 65xx micro buffet were always manned in the mid 1980s when I travelled, although early morning or late evening it wasn't. Towards the end it was less and less, I did trolley work in 1993 for 12 weeks after the locos and coaches, but now there are no facilities on train today.

Cromptons were still common right up to the end of loco haulage. Those micro buffets were handy for a Coke and a cheese sandwich.

The platform bell heard at 6.31 is now performing the same function at Buckfastleigh on the SDR.

Yeovil Junction with 50s and MkII coaching stock. My era - albeit more (and preference for) large logo livery and not that awful Network South East.

The NSE livery I thought never suited the 50s or 47s but worked strangely on a 33....Many thanks and best regards to you...Mark
