I am late to this "party". Thank you for the concise description of these spinal conditions. One thing that is not further described and or depicted is Facet joint syndrome with scoliosis and chronic pain. I have stenosis and facet joint arthritis throughout the spine and spondyliothesis at L5 to S1. I do experience bouts of saddle anathesia and on and off bladder incontinence. Cauda Equina was ruled out via an MRI in Nov 2019. Although you only touch on neurological affects, i have many including high anxiety , chronic pain in many with cricking and cracking in many parts of the spine and facet joints. It is HELL ON EARTH. All of this as a result of a fractured right femur in 1966 at age 15 . The result was a 1 inch shorter right leg. That has yielded a tremendous affect on my well being over the course of the last 40 years. Now with osteoarthritis in many joints (knees, hips, ankles, TMJ , facet joints etc.) I suffer with lots of "itises". The cervical stenosis with several bulging cervical discs at various levels and likewise in the Lumbar spine has wreaked havoc. The squeezing on the spinal cord is affecting with the spinal instabilities contributes to my IBS, chronic sinusitis, tinnitus, temporal headaches as the occipital tightness affects tge trap muscles, and shoulders. Thx for dissertation. Needless to say, I have done comprehensive research on these issues. Doctors, including the 6 ortho and neural surgeons consulted relay limited info . BTW, all surgeons said No Surgery on Lumbar, way too much arthritis.... maybe a candidate for cervical . Pain management is the only thing i can do now.

What the different between acute spondylolysis and chronic spondylolysis ?
@ThePhysioChannel7 ай бұрын
Acute and chronic refer to timeframes. So acute is new and chronic is long lasting, commonly called persistent. I hope that helps. Thank you.

Does spondyolisthesis other than degenerative not progress further if it doesnt progress even after 1 yr of occurence?
@ThePhysioChannel3 жыл бұрын
It can progress but it depends on many factors like age and activity. You should have it assessed if you have any concerns. Thank you for commenting.
