As you always are Kristine, happy whether you win the tourney or finish last. Your enthusiasm is so refreshing after seeing grown men break fishing rods and throwing tantrums in tourneys. Your smile is infectious. Good luck on the Susquehanna and most important safe travels. Looking forward to your next video.

Exactly, that is what I was thinking. It's git to be different body mechanics between a flat platform of a boat and a moving kayak. You just showed us reality, the difference between the two. Enjoyed watching the misses on the frog, because I have to admit, I got a much needed laugh going, early in the morning. Thank you for sharing, I've been learning alot! Maybe one day I'll get to get back on the water and fish a little.

Lady don't take this the wrong way but every one of the fish you missed on the frog it's your hook set it's too violent I've been meaning to tell you wait till you feel the fish then set and please slow down on the hook set I apologize if I overstepped my boundaries.

Thanks for that explanation, I was wondering why your balance was so off on the kayak, thought could the drive make that much difference. makes sense between an outback and a PA14.

Please take the kayak. The bass boat would cut up the cover to much and could negatively impact some great fish habitat. Stay safe. Are you going to Northern Wisconsin soon?

What's this about Red Clay Strays? Are the loggers in Canada suckers for this country nostalgia sound? Or is the audience on to something (lots of things such as covers of old Elvis Presley, obscure songs resurrected from a different time). Dunno. Is there red clay in Nebraska? Is that a thing? By the way Chris, I'd say go thinner gauge steel wire double hooks in summer for your frogs, and file off your barb. Just say'in. But yeah, you'll get used to having the anchorage of a boat platform and carpet underneath you, and even though it's the same rods, reels, hook and line. It's not the same technique at all with a boat underneath you that moves. Look at classic bass anglers who fished around in dinky Jon boat type vessels, before the weight and balance afforded by the modern boat was there. You'd be far better maybe shortening rod lengths by about a foot, when going back to kayaks (as anglers in those dinky small toy boats used to do). Look at dry fly hooks used for trout, require almost no pressure to set hook and frequently are barbless too, but tiny.
@academicmailbox77983 ай бұрын
A frog with a smaller, lighter hook doesn't require as much plastic material to get it to buoyancy state either (you're frog ought to become smaller, rod maybe likewise and chance going down to thinner braid). And then being in a kayak, when you set hook from the dinky plastic water craft, is going to balance out better. What you were doing (again it's a sort of Musky kayak fishing bias thing, hang over), is using way too robust a tackle arrangement from way too little in terms of solidity of the platform upon which you were standing. The reason you get away with that in Musky world, is if a Musky takes the end of a rope it will drag an entire pickup truck after it. It's not letting go. Atlantic salmon do the same thing, whereas sea run brown trout will frustrate you. Because they consistently take top water and then flick you off with insulting regularity and apparent ease. Salmon won't do that to you, but trout will (recall that large rainbow that ate a jig bait in a golf course pond?). My point illustrated. That's what these bass are in Chick, escape artists.
