Never had anything like the door opening in this one. My guess is it was just wind or airflow from an attic window but was definitely strange timing and for sure startled me. The house is listed as being built in 1790. Obviously it’s had lots of updates over the years and majority of the old character is gone but it did have some cool features left. Lots of cool wallpaper and some historic architecture designs with a summer kitchen and full unfinished stone wall basement with a dirt floor. Thanks for watching! Have some really cool ones on the way from down south after this one! Hope you enjoy!

My family used to live in a 160+ year old house. Spooky stuff happened often like doors opening and closing, foot steps in the hall and constantly finding cabinet doors open in the kitchen. It felt like with all the history, deaths the house saw, happy times and sad the home became alive. This house is beautiful it's so sad it was left to decay!!! The door opening was prob the joy this old home had that someone still appreciates it's beauty and history!!

The house I live in is almost 200 years old. Been my wife’s family for 70 years. I been there 22 years and we have had countless unexplained things happen. Never felt like it was anything bad. But can freak u out a little bit though. Most time we just look each other. Laugh and say. That was weird.

Me too. We lived in a 1740's house as children, very heavy footsteps upstairs which scared us initially, but we got used to the goings on and used it as a test of bravery to go upstairs..always nothing there. Great fun memories overall of the house and surrounds

Yeah that used to happen in my house a couple times a year! I'd wake up in the morning and go out in the kitchen and every single cabinet door would be wide open! 😳 I lived alone so used to freak me the hell out. Don't know if the house I was in was haunted because it was only a 40-year-old house, but the land it was built on was an old Indian village called Wicomico in Gloucester Virginia. Right next to Powhatan's chimney. So it could be just that the land was haunted? who knows.

Not a bad house. Looks like it hasn't been abandoned for too long. It needs a full restoration. If it was built in 1790, it's likely built of hand hewn oak timbers which need to be re exposed. All the cheesy 70s paneling needs to be ripped out and replaced with something that approximates the original lath and plaster walls. Hopefully it goes up for sale and some history buff can buy it before it deteriorates any further.

Most of the exposed wood like the rafters is old growth pine. I was able to salvage some rafters from a very old farmhouse that was gutted and after running them through a planer the boards looked like they had just been milled. Spectacular patterns and density that modern lumber lacks. We also found some chestnut that was incredible as well and obviously had been cut down before the blight took out all the old growth. Just have to be careful with nails that will destroy your planer blades. A lot of salvage companies use metal detectors before planing.

@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 I follow your shows pretty closely. I have observed the way you react to certain things in houses, what I'm trying to say is I dont think you want to touch the " paranormal" bit with a ten foot pole. I respect that. I personally believe in the " paranormal" and I often look forward to your episodes, " I wonder if Kappy is going to end up in a real rough one?". I would love to see this place done over. It looks like a sturdy house but with price of materials today you would have to do most of the remodeling etc yourself. My husband put wood paneling in our living room in the 80's but I refused it in our bedroom. It was a bright sunny and cheerful room with 3 windows. My house in ME was built in the 1830's so newer than this house Who knows what the paneling is covering up? Another great video!!

Looks like they blocked it off but the original Stone steps are still there and that's pretty cool. 🙂

That door that popped open Kappy? Watch the video between 7:25 and 7:26 and you'll see it creak open about 1/2 an inch, long before it popped open. As someone who has had the misfortune of experiencing years of supernatural, "hair standing up on the back of your neck" phenomenon, that my friend was something supernatural. It was not the wind and here's why; if the wind were capable of blowing that door open, it would have already been open. In other words it would have blown open decades ago and would not have been closed to begin with. Between the flashlight issues and the door, there was a paranormal presence in that house . It's possible that the baby power was thrown on the floor intentionally by someone who heard things looking and wanted too see if an entity left footprints. After the door experience, I could sense your hesitation in going into the attic and the basement. You are brave friend, I would have left. My wife and I love your videos, keep up the good work.

It's odd to me that every one of those wallpaper patterns are extremely linear: Sometimes in two directions. I have hung a lot of paper and wouldn't attempt any of those patterns in an old home with plaster and paneling over it. You would go crazy trying to keep everything in unforgiving 90 degree straight lines. I will say whoever hung that was extremely good. I have to also add that with both the door opening and the problems with your flash light battery are indications of paranormal activity. I wouldn't be hanging around there at night !

I live in an old farmhouse and on two separate occasions had two people visit who were, unknown to me, both empaths. They both told me the same thing. Apparently the former help still here and stay up in the attic and nite and come downstairs with me in the morning. A pregnant woman with a bun spends her day in my BR, twin red headed girls sit on the sofa in myLr, a little boy plays with a kitten on the front steps . The animal spirits from the farm are still roaming the yard and a previous owner is still harassing everyone. Just about everyone who visits claim that someone pulls their hair in the hallway. All in all we co-exist very well.

I hope you realize you caught paranormal evidence while you were filming. If you listen to audio right before you start saying hello, anybody here, there is a very soft voice saying something. It sounded like it was saying someone's name. Then as you turn towards that room, you see the top of the door pushing out. It stops like it realizes you are looking at it. Then when you turn away, it opens. You also hear what sounds like footsteps at that time. I would send that into a show like "Paranormal caught on camera". They would love that clip.

You have major cajones going down in that basement after ghosts open the door to peep out at you upstairs!! But this was a sweet home at one point. I guess someone died in there and the family couldn't repair the roof. I wonder if that state is like California where if you abandon a place, you're still going to get fined for letting it be a safety hazard, a fire hazard and if it collapses, you have to still pay to clean the property...so it would be cheaper to fix the roof and rent it out. But a lovely old home nevertheless. Thanks for the tour.

Right, the attic looked intact. Most of the damage seemed to be plaster coming down. The cinder block wall in the basement looked recent and probably added to the stability of the structure. I wonder what's with the weird wall on the first floor, if that was for stability or if it could be removed. I hate the paneling, wonder what's behind it. It seemed to be almost overly updated, with maybe only the bones of the structure original.

I just think the house said hi. It misses having a family and wanted you to know it cares. I thought the kitchen was so cute in an early 80s type way or late 70s with that blue. So much of the house was in great shape it seemed. It's a shame that a family doesn't want to be there. Thanks for showing us this one. Very cute with possibilities. And I like how you started the video with the big tree out front-forget the type. My dad has always pointed out old trees like this one that were put near the house and told me how 100 years ago there was a peddler that walked house to house selling his trees. He first told me that about 20 years ago. We were outside Cincinnati at the time, just over the river.

You have to factor in critters roaming inside of these abandoned homes. It's most likely a critter, or a bird, that bounced into the door leading to the attic. There is no negative energy in the home. Nice find. It's in reasonably good shape. The kitchen, is nice. I'm a fan of powder blue. You are correct, about that odd placed wall, 2 feet from the stairs. Why would the homeowner's do such a thing. The stairs are lovely. Its hard, isnt it, to find homes, that have potential as a Airbnb or Bed & Breakfast for travelers, just left to the elements. Stay safe out there. Wear gloves lol.

Although the magazines and things are from the 90’s the house has definitely not been empty since then. My grandmother would keep certain magazine issues if they were full of recipes or instructions for something. You should have checked the dates on the soda bottles as they looked to be fairly recent. That house could be lived in again without too much work I would think. It looked like the far end of the basement still had the old coal storage where the short wooden wall was and the attic still had some post and tube wiring showing. I hope it has been redone and that was just left in place when it was disconnected.

I would say with some remodeling and elbow grease this could be a very nice little home again . Some one put up a lot of paneling and wall paper but the was the thing back then . Look at all those cabinets in this home there was a lot of storage . This was a really nice find Kappy someone really loved this old home and spent a long time here and made it there's it was almost like you could see a older woman washing dishes in that kitchen !!
