The Witch is a movie I love watching between Halloween and Thanksgiving, then Knives Out screams fall from the location to the costumes, and finally, An American Werewolf in London, it's perfect for the season even though that's normal weather for the UK.

I love Practical Magic. Margo Martindale growling "let's clean house!" There are way to many movies I love for spooky season. Ernest Scared Stupid is a favorite. The opening credits using clips from black and white horror movies is very well done.

Halloween always makes me nostalgic so come Halloween I always want to watch the horrors I loved as a teen. H20 is always on the list then there’s house of wax, idle hands, house on haunted hill remake, ginger snaps etc. just that whole era. My boyfriend is insisting on watching Friday 13th this year but I keep saying no cause to me that’s a summer horror that belongs with your I know what you did last summers etc 😂

Cobweb is the PERFECT movie to watch during spooky season in my opinion, its got the same vibes as Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark but is rated R, its set during halloweentime but they dont shove it in your face, and its got miss janis ian from mean girls as a main character and she TURNED. IT. OUT. i had CHILLS the whole entire time, and the last quarter of the movie had me in a chokehold. i could rewatch it forever and ever

The usual watches for Halloween would be Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Hocus Pocus, The Craft, and some version of Halloween (but not the Rob Zombie films). I do tend to watch AHS Coven around this time of year too. Planning on watching Pumpkinhead this year. And maybe 1981’s The Funhouse which is one that I haven’t seen in YEARS. And one more is a rewatch of 2013’s WNUF Halloween Special which I may just have on in the background while making dinner. And 2015’s Tales of Halloween.

Every October, in addition to fav. nostalgic horror films I watch every year for Halloween (Night Of The Scarecrow, Reanimator, Motel Hell, Psycho, Evil Dead, Hellraiser 1&2, The Exorcist, Halloween, Rosemarys Baby -which is one of my favorite films of all time), I like to take the whole month to rewatch in its entirety, a past horror/supernatural/true crime/thriller/mystery/spooky series that I love. Sometimes it’s Twin Peaks or Santa Clarita Diet, sometimes doc series Missing 411 or Penny Dreadful, Carnivale’, The Killer Speaks, or The Kingdom, sometimes Six Feet Under or Ash v. Evil Dead (🖤). This year, it’s True Blood! Haven’t seen it since the series finale, and am currently in season two. It’s so glorious and uber nostalgic for me, and I’d forgotten just how much I loved it the first time around. Except for the ending and most of season 7 (which I’ll be skipping-HATED most of that finale) that is 🙄 Not so much because of Bill’s ending (I wanted Sookie to end up with that sex incarnate smart ass Viking du jour Eric anyway)…but my baby girl Tara? TARA DESERVED SOOOO MUCH BETTER. 😡

I've gone since I was a teen, I got engaged on stage there. My daughter is 12, I was going to start bringing her this year...it sucks. Watching it at home just isn't the same but oh well.

I just had an entire conversation with my supervisor yesterday about horror movies we should each watch this year. He doesn't keep up with horror like that, so I just recommended recent-ish movies for him to watch (Talk to Me, X, Pearl, Barbarian, Evil Dead Rise, The Menu, Smile, etc.). He plans on watching Talk to Me, Evil Dead Rise, The Exorcist (his first time watch), Saw, and Insidious. For me, my traditional watch is Halloween. I don't really have any that I must watch during the season because I just watch them whenever. I have started watching movies I haven't seen before though. So on my list currently is: Rosemary's Baby, Psycho II, and Fright Night (I'm sure I've seen it, but can't remember it). Plus, we have Totally Killer and Chucky coming out. Good times all around. P.S. Dammit, David...where is Chucky Season 2!? lol

I always enjoy watching all the Hammer Dracula and Frankenstein movies throughout October starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. They are so good to watch. The 70s music for when Van Helsing fights Dracula at the end of Dracula AD 1972 always gets a laugh out of me as it sounds so cheesy but I can't help but love it.
