After painting the stairs did you use the same technique for the cliffs as your other tutorial using the brown? Or do you stick with the grey colors to match the stairs? Thank you!

I didn’t actually finish painting the rest of this piece. It was just an example. But if I did I might have used the same brown first technique. Or I might have stuck with this color scheme for the whole thing. I don’t do exactly the same thing every time. I like to change things up.

What would you recommend if you wanted to give the stairs kind of a wet or damp look..maybe add a little sheen..is there a certain clear type of glossy paint that would work well on the styrofoam and over the acrylic paint?

You say a black standard latex house paint. To me that would come in a can and have to be brushed on. How do you avoid brush strokes?

Yeah it’s the stuff that comes in a can. I usually buy a gallon at a time to use for all my base coating. As for brush strokes... sometimes they can be visible but I try to get rid of them by stippling with the brush instead of brushing with it. Poke the end of the bristles onto the foam.
