I used to be disappointed that we had to wait for this chapter by chapter. Now I really enjoy the fact that each chapter gets to be enjoyed slowly. If all seven dropped at once, we wouldn't get such in depth content like this, or at least as much.

Of course Jevil is silly. He's a jester. He's not serious, he's really dangerous. Spamton is also silly, but he has a deep serious side to him (fleshed out much more, due to longer screen time, which is a big improvement from Jevil). But you can't expect fanbase to not make every character memeable/funny/likeable. While I agree a more down to earth secret boss would be really cool, most fan creators follow the current trend with secret bosses' personalities and I mean, I don't blame them. We have 2 samples of secret boss, both having similiar character traits.

Jevil sometimes says serious, enigmatic things, and the rest of the time he's just CHAOSING all over the place. Everytime Spamton says a word is either just silly, apparently silly but actually creepy, or just straight up disturbing.

Okay, this is my big, out there theory for the structure of chapter three. In Chapter One, the main character development is Susie opening up to Kris and becoming their best friend. This is obviously something the Soul wants, given the repeated attempts to influence her, but there is a lot of evidence to support the idea that Kris has wanted to be friends with Susie for a long time now. The first chapter fulfilled that wish, and the two characters are in a better situation The second chapter was focused on Noelle learning to stand up for herself and for Berdley to be less of a jerk. In the pacifist route, that is obviously accomplished, but it is interesting to note that even in the Weird Route, that still happens. Noelle gains a "Stronger" resolve, and Berdley isn't a problem anymore. The means to achieve that are much worse, but the same general goal was still reached. So i think the answer to how this story ends and what happens in the weird route depends entirely on what the characters need. And since Kris opened this dark world, I think Kris has something in mind that the Soul doesn't agree with. In my mind it works like this. I think Kris made this dark fountain for two reasons. One is obviously just to be around Susie more because she is their best friend. But the more interesting reason is that they are trying to get their mother to notice that they are possessed. We know that Noelle has picked up on Kris being off because she's one of the few people who was friends with Kris in the past. The only other person who knows them more than Noelle is Toriel, and we know that Toriel is concerned about Kris from the conversation she has with Alphys where she asks if Kris is doing okay because they've been worrying her. In the pacifist route, along the way Kris could try to highlight their strange behavior to their mother in an attempt to get her to help them. Like the tape theory you mentioned, maybe there will be key items spread around that contain pieces of Kris' memories. Family photos, artwork they made as kids, maybe even old home movies(which would be a call back to the tapes found in the True Lab of Undertale) Of course, since we are controlling Kris as the Soul, we could shut down all of these attempts if we want to, but I have the feeling that since Chapter 2 Kris has learned a lot of new ways to circumvent the Soul's power and will likely succeed in their plan in some way unless we take more drastic measures. That's where I believe the Weird Route would come in. I'm not sure if this route would focus on murder since that was so heavily focused on in Chapter Two, and we would instead be using Toriel's fire magic to destroy the memories/evidence in order to keep Kris quiet. The culmination of this route would be us using Toriel's fire to defeat whatever final boss blocks the fountain(maybe a manifestation of the Kris we're suppressing?), then we seal the fountain immediately afterwards just like Chapter 2's Weird route. Then as soon as we wake up, we realize that the house is on fire due to the damage we inflicted in the Dark World. We would all rush to get out, but Undyne doesn't get out fast enough and she is either critically injured and rushed to the hospital or outright dies in the fire. This would explain away how the story could continue after Toriel discovers a dead body in her house, and for some added sadness maybe it ends with her assuming she must have left the oven on start after hastily leaving the pie unfinished, and blaming herself for Undyne's death. Of course you could argue that an ending like that would too drastically shake up the status quo, and that's fair, but I just find the symbolism of burning down memories to be too cool to leave alone. I guess we'll just see

ooo i really like this theory! so far all of the dark worlds have been focused on escapism and denial through entertainment, so it is possible that we might do that with toriel to get her to burn down some darkners and things. Although with the whole ''if toriel burns the dark world the house will catch on fire too'' I disagree. Noelle had been freezing darkners left and right, yet the computer room showed no signs of coldness nor did we get any flavour text that pointed at it. I think it is possible that the house burns down, but it might probably be because toriel genuinely left the oven on or the tv cables shortcircuit and light up something flammable Although noelle froze enemies exclusively, not the enviornment itself, so it might be possible for toriel to actually cause light world damage if she burnt the world and not just the people

It really needs to get weirder and weirder with every chapter, and i dont think that we should just expect every weird route chapter to play out similarly as how Chapter 2 played out. So i could see that happening which would make the weird route very different.

I’m a big fan of the idea that ch.3’s SB will be VHS related, but i don’t necessarily think they will *just* be focused on Kris’ issues, but rather reflect them. The SB could symbolize old memories from a time where the family were all happy together and now those previously joyous memories are painful to recollect. Would be an easy way to tie into UT with those tapes and such. And i especially agree that the flowers are unlikely to be the SB. We literally just had a SB who was [living in a goddamn garbage can] after all.

I have a theory that chapter 4 will take place entirely in the light world. It will be a more laid-back shorter chapter. It would make sense because you already spent the past 3 chapters almost entirely in the dark worlds. I can imagine meeting Noelle's mother, getting to know more about Dess, getting more clues about the "Song coming from the sea", the bunker, talking more to the characters in Hometown, etc. We already know Kris will be hanging out with Susie in chapter 4 for a bit.

I hear this theory a lot, and honestly I have to disagree. I think chapter 4 will have a larger light world section, but the Dark Worlds are essentially the main hook the game has for gameplay, visuals and story. They’re meant to be wish fufillment; it only makes sense that they would essentially take over the story. That and it’d be a huge shame to waste an entire chapter on random light world events when it could introduce an entire new dark world

I personally do think Napstablook will be the one coming to the house. Think about it this way. With the flowers eventually referencing Flowey, Ralsei referencing Asriel, Kris referencing Frisk/Chara, Toriel being there, the spider webs in the green room indicating the presence of spiders, and the place turned into a Dark World being Home and looking very similar to Undertale's Home in terms of vibe, we may have at least a part of the Dark World referencing the Ruins in Undertale. The only thing lacking is Napstablook since we meet him in the Ruins in Undertale. But since he's part of the police, he may be the one coming, completing the Ruins reference. Literally all the characters we meet in the Ruins would either be there or be referenced in some way. So to me, a Ruins reference is likely. And once again, the house has the same vibe as Home, so it would be a little bit of a missed opportunity to not reference it in some way.

I agree with most of the theories, the one I have my own theory on is the release date. Especially when it comes for After chapter 3 since Toby plans to release 3, 4, and 5 all together. With what we've been given in chapter 2 and with the Spamton sweepstakes, one of the main key mysteries in Deltarune, is the missing sister of Noelle, Dess (aka December). There is a lot of lead up with all the given connections that the sweepstakes gave us, as well as the given info that the Dreemurs and the Holiday's were all once close until a certain incident that caused a rupture in both their relationship with each other and with their own respective family. And with the new clue given that we must "FIND HER" I feel like it would be poetic if Deltarune's next chapters were to be release sometime in December as implications to Dess.

Remember that a "Rook" not only refers to the chess piece, but also a swindler, crook or robber. There's a lot of potential, especially given the numerous nods to outlaws, Undyne appearing as a law enforcer, and the potentially "manipulative executive" angle that you've brought up, that we could actually get a Rook-themed character. So an unholy mix of fanon Mike content, as well as Chess Theory, is the most likely option, IMO, especially considering Toby's love of double-meanings and hidden secrets.

Or "rook" could mean "rookie." If you want to go with Mike as the boss and Tenna as the final boss of Chapter 3, Mike could be a washed-up actor who has been replaced by newer stars. It would even make sense for Kris to feel inadequate to Asriel, he does seem to be the family's golden child. If you believe Teena is a TV, Mike might turn out to be a radio show microphone (TVs *did* overtake radio as the source of home entertainment). The major thing going against that is that "Cathode Crew" sounds more like a gang than a group of rising stars.

Mike and Tenna could both be Rooks. There are two to a side in chess. Also two Bishops each traveling on only one color of squares. And two knights... I bet Susie has a history with the police so she and Undyne may have a lot to "discuss" together. As for the Weird Route, perhaps Undyne found Berdly in his Snowgrave coma earlier that evening so she's already on the warpath. If we make Toriel kill her in defense of Kris and Susie, imagine her waking up in front of a pile of dust, and then going to get cleaning supplies from Sans, who can possibly sense other people's Execution points. That would be awkward!

I personally think that the one who comes over to help will be Napstablook. Them becoming a tv star would be a nice parallel to Mettaton in Undertale, and since they'd technically be a ghost in a robot body it would make it easier for them and Toriel to write the weird route off as a weird dream. I feel like Undyne being there would be a little bit too impactful, and also I just wanna see my beautiful boy (gender neutral) having a little bit of fun :)

I think that Jevil and Spamton are serious, but they aren't supposed to be scary; instead, they are just sad, broken individuals. The "incorrect grammar" is a constant between our two super bosses and is used to show just how far gone they are. Spamton is much more involved with the story and has deeper ties with Kris, so I can see how Jevil is overshadowed by the fandom and what makes the fandom think the third super boss will follow the formula.

I'd say that Spamton is the only one where the incorrect grammar is like, massively noticeable/severe. Jevil just speaks in all-caps (something other characters do as a typing quirk) and has !!!, but that's about as far as he goes.

Examples: "NOW I WILL SLEEP FOR THE OTHER 100 YEARS" "TAKE THIS AND DO YOUR STRONGEST" Also, in regards to the Secret Bosses being scary: They may not be "oooh big monster with teeth gonna getcha", but more psychologically scary, especially Spamton. I mean, he corners Kris in an alley trying to sell him malware as his very first appearance. That aside, his shop interactions are unsettling, he ambushes Kris alone in the mansion's basement and tries to "convince" Kris to let him have their soul before just getting ready to shoot them, he dangles from the ceiling and his limbs swing as if he barely has control over them, and his entire motivation is about cutting the strings that control him and gaining the freedom to make his own choices, something that is particularly relevant to Kris because of the player's involvement. Jevil is in a similar boat, but with a lot less screentime to express himself. He creepily makes nonsensical and cryptic comments through the bars of his giant jail cell, he directly breaks the fourth wall _as a threat,_ and even if you decide not to open his cell if you have the key, it opens itself anyway. The way the basement's ground is shown, he even appears to be out of bounds in some way, as his cell door isn't resting on any ground and there is no discernible wall that the door is attached to. Plus, the way these two are presented through the in-game presentation and music set up a very creepy atmosphere before their fights.

My out-there prediction: Either Chapter 3 or Chapter 4 will be comically short. The multi-chapter release not being how the previous two came out feels strange and I feel like there's gotta be something there, however small. So I think that a major conflict will appear, and be squandered in quick succession, either being played as a joke, or a "whew, that was an intense hour of gameplay" type section, and then the chapter will just end. Of course the other chapters will be of suitable length to make up fior this. My only real "proof" for this is that Mother 3 has a chapter that is....a different length than the others, for very good reason.

Kinda hope not tbh, I think at least for the first 5 chapters each dark world deserves the time to flesh itself out. I wouldn't be surprised if either chapter 6 or 7 was a major outlier to the gameplay loop established so far but I still hope neither of them are 20 minute gags, just means hours of less sweet sweet Toby Fox gameplay.

As someone who played the deltarune chapter 3 fangames, I really want to see mike portrayed the way he was in fangames, specifically like mikes big showdown. he managed to be a lot like spamton while having his own unique style, and the way the fangame was made was just so great. I think that mike, after being rejected by tenna or rook or whatever, would come to kris offering something in return for helping him. but that does sound an awful lot like spamton, but my point here is that I really like how mike was portrayed, and I really want to see it there. Also, I think tenna would have some sort of career around TV like hes theorized to, but I think the spamton arg was kind of hinting at something else as well. I kinda think that he would have some kind of a secret anarchist/nihilist organization, which would kind of tie into the whole reoccurring thing where the sb would know about deltarune's world being a "game". maybe mike was led to join the "cult" not knowing what it truly was, and was shattered by everything that he had learned from tenna. in mikes big showdown, mike had a very explosive personality, with a great sense of humor and a great deal of charisma. however, if you do everything right, hell open up to you, the music will cut to some kind of weird trance, hell speak in lowecaase (as opposed to the reoccurring caps lock kinda thing) and hell go on about how a "strange man" came to him, and offered to make him the "best host" (more spamton) but after he refused, he says he was "set free" by being told about how the world is a game. most people believe that this man was gaster, but him being tenna suddenly fits in with everything ive said here. Maybe gaster helped tenna, like how we assumed gaster helped mike and spamton. maybe tenna ended up replacing mike with spamton, which would cause mike to be jealous of spamton and express that jealousy in negative ways, which would explain why spamton refers to him as a criminal, and says "dont believe anything you see on tv", which, in my belief was a reference to how tenna or mike was told about the world being a game, not the tv being mike. Overall, really great video, I love seeing fans speculate on such high levels like this, and I cant wait for chapter 3 to come out. Also HOLY SHIT this comment is long. sorry about that.

I could see the secret boss being the Flowers, with a venus fly trap inspired design sticking outside the trash can, it would represent the relationship between Asgore and Toriel. Inside the snowgrave route, I could imagine it having a second phase of it turning into a question mark, to represent the other characters, including Toriel being confused why Kris is acting strange.

I'm not sure we will see fully paralleled weird routes with other characters, as even as a "surprise", I feel like it wouldve been implied in chapter one. Foreshadowed in some way. and again we were only able to proceed the rest of this route it's when fighting spamton and using our access to noel. everything else storywise plays the same, its only when noel is present that things are able to go wrong. it really feels like a "special" thing with her

IMO it would be a bit more interesting if you minipulated a different character each time, it doesn't have to be identical to what you did to Noelle. it just feels a little narritively limiting to have Noelle specifically a weird route slave, "Psychologically minipulate noelle into doing bad stuff (differently each time)" would get pretty predictable and boring as soon as you find out Noelle is going to be minipulated again, and a lot less Emotional if you don't care about Noelle Repeating Noelle minipulation is not going to make you really stop playing, Genocide is a good route because it actually made people stop playing because of how bad people felt about doing it, making it noelle exclusive pushes some blame off of you because weird routes can only happen if noelle is here, and noelle won't be in every Chapter unless if noelle is just not in Chapter 3 but is in chapters 4~7, which is just random Also I'm pretty sure Toby actually did want to put a Weird route in Chapter 1, given Ralsei's Fire Magic and a Dying animation which looks like somebody being burned down, which could have been removed for getting WAY too much in ðe way of Chapter 1's plot, specifically Susie and Lancer's Arc and your choices not mattering. (It's also possible Ralsei's Magic never would have killed people but i doubt it since i can't see why else Toby would have a dying animation which looks like a character burning) I could actually see Chapter 3 being a good way for Toby to reuse Chapter 1's unused Weird Route ideas which were scrapped. having a different character, different way allows for more options, you don't get blame shifted off you because you directly cause every weird route, and if weird routes can happen to anyone, it can be more heartbreaking because anyone can be effected by it I guess what i'm saying is pretty subjective/speculative, but still feel like a noelle specific weird route just isn't a great idea.

Not gonna lie, I definitely LOVE the Dreemurr Family including Asriel, and The Holiday Parents having a past in the dark world. I have always thought of that being a possibility. That could be the explanation of how we get the TV out of the house. Toriel understands and we tell NO ONE. Super fun to think about.

I find myself falling in line with a lit of your predictions lol. I think your point about Toriel seeing favoritism in motion is especially strong because that really seems to be the core conflict between her and Kris. I feel like Toriel is probably going to be the character that "Rook" favors though because I don't see Undyne being quite so eager to get told what to do. If anything I could see Undyne's motivation for chasing the kids around being to protect them by imprisoning them then trying to take on Rook herself. Of course, she doesn't know how to actually navigate a dark world so we'd have to keep escaping from her and progressing the plot. (in a nice parallel to Undertale) It provides and excuse for Toriel to leave the story so that she doesn't have to see Ralsei, as I agree that would be too much too fast. (plus their in battle powers would likely overlap) Toriel would go along with the ruse to protect the kids as Rook would have her under a contract that states that if she doesn't then he'll go all out on them. I feel like contracts are going to be the key "freedom limiting circumstance" in this chapter like chapter one featuring physical imprisonment and chapter two focusing on money. It would lead to an exploration of the concept of the player "improving Kris's life." There could be a Darkner under contract to do a demeaning job that makes everyone happy but themself miserable... maybe it's the secret boss. It would also provide the perfect linchpin for the normal and weird route as Toriel underestimating Kris might lead us to lose a fight with Rook and be split from our party for a while, getting Kris and Toriel alone. In the normal route Kris is able to prove to Toriel that they're stronger than she thinks while in the weird route we purposefully allow Kris to take damage to force Toriel to protect them in more and more drastic ways. We wouldn't actually see Toriel kill anyone but the sacrifice made would be to Kris's relationship with her. Oh, and the last thing I wanted to mention. I like the idea that the Dreemur household serves as the "set" for the TV dark world and so more objects than not are made into environments that darkners. Helps explain a lot lol.

Some very good ideas here. I like your idea about the main boss being a network manager who has a presenter antagonist below them, I like your justification for a Wierd route even though I disagree (I personally think the Wierd route will be a story beat directly tied to Noelle) And I also like how the secret bosses could get more serious. I don’t think that Nullifies the concept of a “Skrunkly”, secret boss, because I think the 2 can coexist as different styles of characters. My main criticism here (apart from chess theory LOL) is we don’t have a precedent for the secret bosses all being personal to Kris, Jevil never even learns our names (and he doesn’t want to, that’s insignificant to him), his commentary goes higher towards the prophecy/roaring and the theme of fate/destiny. These are themes applicable to the entire game (including Kris as a secondary to the larger theme, unlike with Spamton who is Kris first, larger themes second), and I think other secret bosses can make good use of those more general themes as the roaring gets closer

Something cool would be Kris using the Yellow soul mode in the shootout section if they defeated Spamton Neo. They would probably remember it because it happened just a few hours ago, and it would also be a cool way to reward the player by letting them shift the soul modes in battle. Maybe sometimes colored bullets could appear and when you catch them your soul changes color. This would be quite cool imo.

I think it would be a interesting idea if Ralsei was shown to toriel at the start and toriel became attached to him due to his maybe similar appearance to Asriel it could lead to Ralsei becoming more defined as a character with Toriel trying to maybe “babysit” Ralsei (this would relate to toriel with frisk in undertale) which could annoy him because Ralsei was born in the dark world and Toriel would be unknowingly patronising him with Ralsei eventually losing his patience and telling Toriel to stop because it’s affecting him negatively as well it could be used in the weird route where we could use Ralsei in some way possibly letting him get downed to get Toriel to go crazy and kill people in a sort of motherly rage It would be good to see Ralsei become a bit more confident and stand up for himself and could flesh out the top character a lot with toriel could realise by the end of chapter that she’s too overbearing on kris controlling him (ties into kris and spamtons relation with puppets and strings) and Ralsei could help toriel show her that and become more confident in not just himself but his mission and his identity as a whole This is really long sorry but it’s just my thoughts on what Toriel’s and Ralsei’s relationship could be

I always like to think that the television would actually be an ally of the gang and that the television would try to help them but the remote would turn off the television and take over the dark world. Or maybe the controller would control the TV using it as a pawn. Although it's just a theory ,a Golden experience requiem theory I also like the interpretation that the TV loves the dreemurs but is unable to accept how much they have changed while he was off in the light world, wanting staying in the past (although the VHS tapes would work well also in that way)

Big fan of your structure analysis - I think the Undyne/cops and robbers type thing is a good idea. Also, I've definitely been thinking that Toriel and Ralsei will end up comedically just missing each other constantly, maybe culminating in a meeting at the end of the chapter. I'm not sure I'm fully into the chess theory/ "rook" just yet, though. Also, I'm a 2024 truther - 3 chapters in 3 years is tripling development pace already, give the man some time! I think there'll be another fun event this fall like the sweepstakes to tide us over.

One thing I'm curious about is chapter 3s potential to be the first dark world that has the potential to not have some relation to Gerson Boom hidden within it, or very adjacent to it. In chapter 1 we have card kingdom, in the abandoned classroom, we have a drawing on the cabinet that was seemingly drawn by father Alvin, in his youth(which also means, considering father Alvin looks pretty old, that the school itself is very old) and he drew a green turtle on it. It could have been himself, but my money is that it's his father, Gerson, especially considering we know gerson is dead, and that his tombstone said one of the things he was in life was a teacher, him dying is likely why the abandoned classroom is abandoned. And in chapter 2, were in the library, which happens to feature a book, written by Gerson, the Lord of the Hammers, meaning both dark world's we've visited so far have some connection to Gerson Boom, but I can't imagine what connection he has to the TV unless they drop one in chapter 3, that's what I'm keeping my eyes out for, because 2 could easily be coincidence, a consequence of spreading pieces of Gerson all over, but 3 is suspect

Interesting that you are predicting this year as chapter's 3-5 release. As a hollow knight fan, having witnessed a lot of "coming soon"s and knowing that the first announcement trailer of the sequel came out 4 years ago, I'm pretty sceptical about getting deltarune so early. Yes, the team is working faster and they already have a lot done but I think they would need to hurry to finish develpement before this halloween. It would be very cool of course but I expect the next 3 chapters to release next year I like your theories in this video! 😁 I am not too good at making predictions about gameplay but your version sounds believable. As for Mike, I'm guessing they might be like Seam- a special side character important to the secret boss. I have no idea how will future weird routes work but they are definitely gonna work differently each time. I'm also hoping that each secret boss will give us a new soul color. We already got red and yellow, there are so many possiblities for new mechanics. Additionally it would be awesome to eventually see old secret bosses again, it would be sad if they were limited to their chapter

I really think the secret boss of ch3 might be the housephone. Fits with the theme of neglected items as the game wont even let us use it if we try, could very easily have ties to gaster since yknow, phone + dark world = garbage noise, and also it would just be cool. Also about the weird route, while i really hope weird routes are about different types of game breaks (ch2's was needless grinding, ch3's could be sequence breaking or clipping out of bounds or something), if it is just "manipulate character" i think it will end up being Toriel killing *Napstablook* not undyne. The reason i say this is almost purely becuase of the pun potential. Just like how ch2 had "Computer Freezing" as an unsaid pun, when an image is *BURNED* into a CRT tv, its called a "Ghost image", therefore napstablook will die to fire magic (we know magic can hurt ghosts, assuming they use undertale logic)

Although I do see a secret boss being based around Kris as an idea, we already had one based around Kris in previous chapters. (ie, Spamton.) Jevil was centered around pretty much the whole fun gang. Spamton is based around Kris, with his themes of control. I more so see a secret boss based around one of the other fun gang characters, or maybe Toriel, which opens up that flowers idea. Still, it’s an amazing video! Edit: Mike might be representative of an old radio, representing the idea that what the secret bosses represent are usually intentionally ignored, and rejected. Ie, Jevil is representative of Joker cards, and Spamton is obviously representative of spam Emails.

even if I don't think it's super likely, I do like the theory of napstablook playing some role in chapter 3. if the undyne police chase theory you mentioned in here turns out to be true, I can see them being her "assistant" in each scenario. I also think that if this chapter focuses more on the dreemurr family and their problems (like how 2 had queen reflect noelle's mother and their issues), then blooky would fit the themes better than undyne. undyne really isn't associated with family themes and such, but napstablook certainly is. we have all the tension between them and their cousins, that I can see being used to parallel asriel and kris in some way.

My own notes in no order: -While of course we're too early into things to see a pattern: if we're going through heart colors, I was under the impression the theory was us going through them in reverse Undertale order. Meaning Purple would be next, not Green. (Plus it may very well be exclusive to the secret boss anyway.) -I feel Tenna is still on the table as the main boss of the chapter. Especially since they could be made, in addition to a show host, into a mob boss titled "Aunt Tenna" or something to that effect. Mainly just because I'm not attached to the chess name theory. -Building off what the video said said: honestly, I could see us not getting a weird route this chapter. It's clearly not a requirement, Chapter 1 didn't have one; so I theorize the weird routes may skip every other chapter until chapter 7, where your consequences (or lack there of) of your actions come into play. -Furthermore; I kinda think the weird route may be something exclusive to Noelle, and build off of our interactions with her. Mostly because I think she's going to be a major character whose involvement with us shapes (or fails to shape) the ending of the game; something I do not think similarly of any of the returning Undertale characters outside maybe Asriel when he shows up.

My main problem with Rook is that it's kinda out of the blue without a clear reference to a thing in the real world. Like yeah the first two chapters has King and Queen two common chess pieces, but Queen was explained that her serial number was so complex so she used a nickname, and King was the King of Spades. Rook doesn't have a set up reference nor does it have something you can just shrug off so simply.

I am personally behind the fandom idea that the chapter 3 will be a bouquet of flowers. The flowers from Asgore that Toriel throws away. It's just- perfect! It gives insight on the family issues and will probably be a very dark boss since I don't think the flowers would be very happy to be disgarded, tying in with Kris' feelings of not belonging and feeling left out of the family. And flowers also have a lot of attachment to Asriel due to the whole flower thing in undertale I'll legitimately be VERY surprised if the secret boss ISN'T the trash flowers

I myself made some..ridiculous speculations back when Chapter 2 was in the middle of popularity. I think that perhaps the final area would be a dramatic warzone, with the Spare Change Shooters getting in a war to stop the Lint Larcenists from destroying the city. They'd be working for Mike, Tenna or Rook. But now that I think about it, it seems more like they'd just serve Mike. Secret Boss: I follow along with the glitchy VHS Player Idea. Perhaps Kris could enter an old-fashioned city, as if it was in the 1980's, with the whole Mafia thing, and encounter a VHS Player in an alleyway, like Spamton. Except he'd have to interact with it for the person to communicate. He'd speak in glitchy text, though his grammar is perfect, and he would just be a static, blurry figure that looks like a man, similar to Undertale, when you go into that room in the True Lab without turning on the fans. He'd then tell you to head to the alleyway, which would most likely be the beginning of the Mafia City. He'd sell decent gear, but they'd be static-y and you would be unable to equip them unless you go to Malius and get some item called the "Purifier", which will allow him to purify a static item, but at the cost of some gold. The man would tell you that if you give him random VHS Tapes from all around the Dark World, even from sparing enemies, and give them all to him. You will need to give him the maximum amount, which is most likely 10, and everytime you pick one up and bring it back to him, you'll be teleported inside the TV hooked onto the VHS. (I think that's how they work. If not, it's still a thing in the Dark World.) You'd have to explore some glitched, static parts of Kris' past, and maybe uncover some lore about Dess, similar to Black Space in Omori. He will also have a dialogue option called "Who are you" at the bottom. He will say in a glitchy voice: "Who am I? Ah, a classic question, and I really should have seen it coming. Though I have forgotten my real name, K believe myself to be named..As-" *static and error noises*And after all of that is finished, the Man will give you a static-y VHS Tape. You'll yet again have to go back to Malius, and he'll purify it at the cost of 1000 Dark Dollars. If you go back to the alley, however, you'll be greeted with a shut door. And on very, very rare occasions, you'll be teleported to the Static Void, the place where the man is trapped. You' be able to get some more lore about him and Dess, and maybe even Kris, by running after him, again, similar to Black Space in Omori. You'll be able to inspect the tape once it's purified, and you'll get a description. "A VHS Tape. The label reads: 0M364. You put your ear up against it. You hear distant cackling." Once you return to the man's area, you'll be able to insert the disc, and he'll say that he feels..strange. If you leave and return after beating the Second Final Boss, you'll see that the place is an explosion of thorny vines. Walk in by cutting down vines with your sword, and you'll see that the shop is replaced with a black void. Entering it will teleport you there, with a static square in the middle. You'll see Omega Flowey, waiting for your arrival. On some occasions when he's supposed to have dialogue, the face quickly shows the Man, and he will say: "..help..me..kris..", before continuing Omega Flowey's Dialogue. You then battle Omega Flowey, with the way to win in Pacifist is cutting the vines using Susie's throw. There are 5 sets of vines, and everytime you cut some, more will take it's place. You'll be able to make him tired whilst cutting the vines with Ralsei, who will continue singing the song that made Susie fall asleep, until Omega Flowey is too tired to stop his vines from regrowing. You cut the final set of vines, and the TV falls and shatters, whilst vines fall as well. The Man walks out of the TV, still static-y. He thanks you, and says: "Seems like I'm freed. Thank you, Kris. Now, I can continue hiding what you were never supposed to find out." Before disappearing. You'll continuously be able to see and interact with him all around the Dark World, even in Castle Town, on rare occasions, and if you interact with him, he says: "Why do you pursue, Kris? Best to give up." Before disappearing. That's my thoughts on the Secret Boss and the final area 😅

based on your theories, I have my own of what the chapter will be. You are tiny, and making your way through the house and end at Toriel's room, with the secret boss possibly residing in the bathroom. However in each room is a type of movie depending on what room your in (I can imagine a chase scene up the stairs.) However, ralsei would always have some slap stick joke at the end, delaying him entering the room in-between, the green room. These are rest rooms that are kind of the gateway to the next room over (so like going to the living room to the kitchen, there is a green room.) Due to her kindness, Toriel would be a maid / butler, and give you a drink and a chat in the green room. (Maybe one time Susie meets an actor and gets delayed, leading a gateway for the weird route opening.) Toriel would leave and ralsei would enter, and that would go on until the last one, where that was going to hit ralsie hits the boss instead, and they both meet up. The secret was hard to think of, but I remembered that checking the shampoo bottle before and after Kris jumps out the window at the end of chapter two would show it being lighter and I had an idea that wouldn't look weird in the light world, but might work in the dark world. To unlock it, you have to go around and check 'dirty' things (like a secret room with a dust bunny and other things like that) and the liquids would come together to clean Kris, making a resemblance to muk from pokemon, The item you get I do not know, maybe like a bit of foam like you get from body washes sometimes, but really it could be anything. (Just thought of this so maybe it's story is that it wanted to be different but was peer pressured to be clean and do it's job, and doesn't want the same harassment to Kris, turning hostile to protect him accidently. Finally the weird route. I already to you the opening to it being one of the green house dialoge, and it would break off after agreeing you would meet her at the next scene 5 minutes early. A clock on the wall would chime once, and if it chimes 5 times, the run ends. However, she is at the other end of the scene and there is 10 minutes before the thing starts If you reach her you go ahead trying to sneak out, but you would convince Toriel that it's just a dream and to take her anger of asgore out on the dream people. She woud get rapped up in it and not even see Undine trying to get her out the shot before she would go down. After it playes out the chapter 2, and, knowing what she did, would lay Undine on the sofa in the light world while she waits for the ambulance to arrive. So what do you think?

For chapter 4 i think that itll be a shorter DW because of the group project, maybe noelle invites you to her house so both of your groups can do it together and we meet noelles mom and learn some more about dess or something

Something I could see is, if Kris''s room would be the the final area, the SB section could be behind Ralsei's bed, where he put old videogames and stuff. Then the puzzle could be somehow bringing an old device to plug in an outlet on the corridor or other previous place to turn it on.

It’s the whole “Secret bosses representing Kris’s struggles” thing, I still think it’d be flower’s, since it’s implied that the divorce may have happened recently, I think it could be the flower’s representing Kris’s coping with the divorce. Of course, this is only a possibility, but I think this might be an interesting idea.

I'm hoping the weird route doesn't have to end in someone else dying again. As much as I disliked berdly, his death wasn't warranted. Maybe someone can just feel betrayed or have their secret revealed that causes angst or distrust? Also it would be cool to see Toriel use fire magic...but I thought Noelle knowing iceshock was only because she was playing video games where her character uses magic. My idea of her powers in the dark world are protection based like the whole shield thing a few people have speculated to appear in ch3

Idea: There will be a secret boss for every chapter. This goes into nicely with a personal theory of mine, where every secret boss has a different soul battle and different personality based on a different soul. Jevil is patient enough to be characterized with patience and we fight him with the red soul. Spamton is able to never give up, to always try again, which is basically him being tied to perseverance. We also fight him with the yellow soul. My idea with your secret boss is that they will be tied to integrity and how, as a vhs, they slowly lose it. Also, the purple soul battle effect is almost self explanatory.

I was thinking the remote would be Rook, them being in charge of all the happenings in the dark world, them being this executive producer, while Mike plays a lancer esck role, him being the face of the show, while rook gets projected onto a screen and yelling that the show isn't interesting enough, and then the puzzle or challenge gets more difficult, or deadly
