@@LewisFausettManagement I don't want to be the weird person that's overly exited for comments, but I have to say that this is the first time that I have gotten a response from someone in the video. Although it's not the channel of the original video, this is cool and i'm not complaining. So not trying to be weird but, thanks for responding, it's cool that you did!

Those are constant velocity carbs. You see them on motorcycles a lot. The butterfly valve is controlled by the throttle cable, the round slide is controlled by vacuum.
@alisdairherd9501
@alisdairherd9501 4 жыл бұрын
There is a tapered needle that seats in a fuel orifice that's in the path of the intake. The fast moving air creates a vacuum in the space in the bell above the round slide, sucking it up away from the fuel orifice. As the needle is tapered the more it is withdrawn the more fuel is allowed into the intake airstream.

Intake manifolds don't need "cooling"... they use the engine heat to pre-heat the intake charge when it's cold weather. Heated intake charge also improved MPG and exhaust emissions.
@svetko05

For mpg and emissions, yes, but who cares about that? If you want power colder intake temperatures are the way to go.
@beforebefore
@beforebefore 4 жыл бұрын
@@svetko05 Agreed that cooler intake charge means more density, but you can't get cooler intake charge by cooling with the engine coolant system. BTW, I totally disagree about disrespecting the only environment we have... that's like intentionally pouring poison in the water you drink. Others have to have a liveable environment after you're through with it!

This hurt to watch. But, it is from 1979, so the engine was probably shit, anyway.

I'm heavily leaning towards the 2JZ. Next week I'm test-driving a C10 with an LS3 and a 2JZ GTE Supra to see which I like better. The big thing is that the LS has been done before where the 2JZ would give us a much more unique build, and I like doing weird unique things. I have a source for both so getting the engines isn't the hard part.
@DefconMaster
@DefconMaster 4 жыл бұрын
@@LewisFausettManagement definitely go with the 2JZ. Nothing against the LS, they're great motors with excellent bang for your buck, but these days they're basically the default engine swap option. The 2JZ would have a lot more character!

A 2JZ in a heavy Rolls is gonna suck. To make bottom end torque you need to use a smaller turbo, which is a must for a heavy car. But you need a big turbo for big power, which will have lag. So unless you’re building sequential, it’s not going to be happy. An LS or Hemi swap would be a better idea.
@LewisFausettManagement
@LewisFausettManagement 4 жыл бұрын
It's actually a lighter car than a lot of people think. Especially because ~1,000 pounds of the weight comes off when you swap the engine. The biggest concern is Torque which we were thinking about switching the Supra transmission to fix, but in our research we found we should be fine. We're thinking sequential turbos. But again we actually aren't trying to build the fastest car on the block. We're just trying to make it a little more modern performance wise while maintaining a cool classic car. (except we are murdering it)
