Yea I've been scared off of the dongle. Yes for smoothies, but for general will go for a pennel. Some guys been saying traditional pennel for congers and cod, vs circles better for smoothies and rays. Great videos, some incredible footage, underwater, drones etc fair play

Thanks pal. Still on the base of the learning curve for filming and edits but trying to create a visual experience of our sessions. 👍🎣

Dongle for me every time. The odd missed fish outweighs deep hooking a fish in my opinion. My bite to hook up ratio has definitely gone up not down in the time that I’ve gone fully dongle. I remember having baits chewed in the middle between pennel hooks in the past so where do you draw the line? Also much better using circle hooks over the rough you get your gear back more often than using J hooks. Think it’s more about using what you have total confidence in that makes the difference so it’s Circles and Dongles/Hair rigs all the way for me. Great session guys, thanks for sharing

Thank you for adding your experience with dongle fishing. I’ll continue using them but I’m still not 100% convinced.

Hell of a sesh on the 40 gram rod lads well in!! Regarding dongle I love it on Ray & hounds also on dogs whilst match fishing but I’ve dropped it on everything else especially the Huss & Tope as I found they smash the belly where there is no hook & dropped more fish than I landed. Oh yeah also any chance of doing the grippa solo in black please. Cheers guys keep them products coming & tight lines 🎣

Thanks Simon. Just in the middle of a huge production run of the new products. Once it’s out the way. Drop us a message and we’ll hook you up with black solo no problem. (Every pun intended!) 🎣🎣

Excellent session guys. Just goes to show, it's always worth taking lighter tackle to marks like that. Never know what's lurking in the margins!

Give the circle hook longer, just to get it hooked! then lift dont strike, Great vid as always buddy!

Thanks pal. Yeah, still getting used to fishing a dongle (circle hook) set up so all a learning curve! 👍🎣

Great fishing fair play to you both. I always think we over fish with these bog rods and baits. Sometimes less is more!!. Looking forward to those rod cups being released. Some lunkers to be had on lures down that neck of the woods

What a session, well done boys. Love the dongle for rays and hounds but I did loose a couple of fish last week on it 🤷
@spooliganfishing5 ай бұрын
Yeah. Its difficult to call if its an issue with dongles or if its ‘just fishing’ that sometimes we drop a fish! 👍🎣

Love the dongle for hounds ,rays and bass.. I've lost Huss on them but also lost Huss on pennels..they're lazy buggers 😁 deffo using a dongle next month 💪🤞🦈

I’m slowly moving over to the ‘Nay’ camp I think!
@mtadave67025 ай бұрын
The whole idea of the dongle is to prevent deep hooking, you add a stinger and it ADDS a deep hook risk, so you might as well use a pennel presentation. Pfft.

Fair comment! Thanks Dave.

J hooks are the best

I suppose both methods and hook types have the pro’s and con’s. Seems it’s personal preference of what works best for each angler. 👍🎣

Do you fish rotten bottoms here?
@spooliganfishing4 ай бұрын
No Mathew. If you cast towards the yellow bouy and the lifeboat slip 95% of the time you get gear back. Only occasionally when tide is running hard you may snag up.
