Time to finish off the willow crook spoon from part one. All knife work this time, apologies of the background noise, this one was shot at the weekend when the nearby microlight airfield is at it's busiest so quite a few planes flying close by but hopefully not too much of a distraction.

Lovely finish Lee, did you find when you first started carving, as I have a couple of times, so far, and i am a newbie, carried on a tide of uforia with a spoon/ hook knife when carving out the bowl of a spoon. Get so engrossed in the smoothness of the cutting and the way the shavings come off you end up going tight through the bowl of the spoon. Yeh, I know, school boy error. Cheers. Les.

I didn't realize the leather necklace was new. I made one for myself right after I saw the first video! I thought it was a common thing for spooners. Thanks for the idear!

Nicholas Jonas they're a good portable option. I usually wear a leather apron with a chest pocket that does the same job and offers a bit of leg protection too but I don't usually take that camping!

Like the Bib idea. Would've liked more close ups to really SEE your knife work. Such exemplary techniques are worth examining in depth. Thanks for showing more techniques for avoiding abrasives with such esthetically pleasing results. Look forward to more. Loved the outdoor setting. Makes me homesick for the mountains of New Mexico's Gila National Forest.

Very nice video, Lee. I appreciate these real-time carving videos. A suggestion for next video is to use the soundtrack from one camera, the camera closest to you, and use that all the way through. Better quality sound and a seamless feel between the cuts. :) Great job mate!

Hampus Ettehag thanks very much. I think I'll get an external mic at some point, not sure how easy it would be to sync up the footage in the basic editing software I use if I used the soundtrack from one camera throughout. Buy might give it a try next time. Cheers.

Cheers, Yes the leather has enough flex to keep things still, well worth the five minutes and scraps it takes to makes one.
