There would be an even small chance of contam of you out the lid on before tilting and moving the plate around to spread the spore solution.

I agree, the more time the lid is off the greater chance to get contaminated.

Dude. Hit me with that good agar recipe. I been doin 321. 3 g potatoe flakes. 2 g agar powder and 1 g corn syrup. It works good but to tell ya the truth. I been havin condensation probs.

10 grams agar 10 grams light malt extract 500 ml water It works well for me... Condensation is almost impossible not to get, unless you leave it under a really good flow hood with the tops off your trays. That leave room for contamination. I just wipe the condensation out when im using them. Store them upside down once the agar cools so the water from the condensation will be on the top when you open it. And then i wipe it out.

@@chuckofalltrades202 yeah. I tried this just water and agar run. And I feel that cause there is no nutritional advantage there. I been doin the agar and lme lately and it turns out great. Gd lookin on the reply. Might be askin questions in the future cause I’m still green in this area. Thing is is all my bags whether it’s unc bens or grain always turn out 🔥. Maybe I’ll just take some myc out of a bag and put that on agar and then just isolate it until I get a fat agar plate.

So one dude told me that if you grab one of those infrared point an shoot thermometers that you should wait till it’s like 120 then pour. And then obviously stack em. But he said when you wait till it’s really low. The condensation is noooooothing like it is when you pour it even ten or twenty degrees warmer
