Here's an idea, AGV should offer inner clear lenses so I can ride around with my blue iridium lens but if it gets late I can ride with the shield up but i'd use the clear inner shield to protect my eyes from the bugs and wind.

It appears the left off that annoying piece of velcro in the center of the forehead on the EPS. At what lbs per sq inch does the chin strap let go at?

AGV website for K3 helmet "Comfortable and safer than plastic, it can withstand over 2,000 Newtons of tensile force and does not deform before breaking point." 2000 newton's is 449.6 lbs

According to ECE . The retention system test involves placing the helmet’s retention straps under load in tension. For this test the load is progressive; first a load of 22.7 kg (49.9 lb.) is applied for 30 seconds, then it is increased to 136 kg (299.2 lb.) for 120 seconds, with measurement of the stretch or displacement of a fixed point on the retention strap from the apex of the helmet. Some new standards in FMVSS 218 will go into effect in May 2013.

Im thinking between this or the k1s as my very first helmet, i live somewhere very sunny and humid so im not sure whether to choose the k3 for the inner visor or k1s for the better ventilation

If you live in an area where it is hot I would go with the better venting helmet which is the K1S. - Van
