Hello Brian. Would you say this feels flimsier or sturdier compared to the original non-cell versions? Both are offering Level2 protection. I get it. However visually it seems like the new stuff has less toughness to it and more airflow. I also wonder why Alpinestars wouldn't upgrade their amazing KR-3 to this cell type material if it's superior. What do you think?

This is an excellent option if you want more airflow as compared to the KR3. Personally I like the design and coverage of the KR3 and will sacrifice a little airflow. - Van

Both are CE Level 2 so the protection will be very similar. Where the Alpinestars wins is on comfort, this protector is thinner, lighter and more flexible than the Forcefield. Almost invisible under a suit. - Van

Hey Van, love your videos have an R3 myself. I am on the fence between this KR-1 and the KR-3. I currently have the nucleon KR-2I insert but now that I am doing track days I am looking to have a bit of a longer and more serious back protector. I got the Nucleon chest inserts that integrate with my Antem v3 jacket so I am just not sure what to get for the standalone back. Thanks a lot.

I like both the KR-1 and the KR-3. That said there is more coverage with the 3 especially on the sides with the additional protectors they include. - Van

To be honest the snap system is not very useful. I have tried to use it and can tell you it does not work very well. When shopping I would not consider that important. - Van

When I would wear a chest protector I would just slip it under the suit and zip up. This is the most common way to wear one not to mention the most comfortable. - Van

kr-1 cell is from 2020 with cell technology, the kr1 may be different idk
