What fan base? Not even a professional league. Stop referring to them as pro's. The A's have only 10k-15k real fans, thats why they've been trying to move for years. The only time we've ever sold out is when we were in contention, or when the big name teams are in town. Ppl just mad we don't have the same kind of fan base as the Giants. Building a waterfront stadium wouldn't have changed that either!

@buicklincoln my mom was at the first game in Oakland. I was born into being a fan, been going to A's games since 1980. We have never had a huge fan base, even during the bash brothers and winning we were pulling 20k-30k attendees, unless the Yankees, Red Sox, Seattle or Baltimore were in town. The bandwagoners would come out after August. We've always scouted young talent and sold it away, back since the Reggie Jackson, Ricky Henderson days
