Fabulous show Captain Jack! Really appreciate the time given by Spanky, Dave Sharapan and the rest of your guests. I hope this is something you'll consider doing again.

These videos have changed the game for me... From a guy who's mindset was "how can I find peoples picks" to now, a guy who's looking at it like "how can I find a way to beat the closing number as well as the vig"... thank you for providing us a way to peek through the curtain a bit and actually hear this stuff from the Bigs... Has been a complete game changer for me. Thanks!

Thanks Captain Jack you are truly amazing to give your time to help guys like me trying to make sports betting a 2nd income until maybe building a bankroll over a few years to get to point it becomes my main job. I do have a question what is your opinion on purchasing picks from cappers? Thanks again for all you do!!
@CaptainJackAndrews4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. In terms of buying picks, it's a matter of economics. Something in the equation doesn't add up: First, we know markets tend towards efficiency, so if you find an inefficiency in the market, it's only a matter of time until it wears out. If the handicapper has found something, he's really going to hasten its demise by letting untold other people in on it. Then the question is WHY would he sell this golden goose? It would last much longer and he'll be able to soak up more of the profits if he just kept it to himself and nursed it. Then on top of that, we know that sharp action moves lines. A trick a lot of touts do is they give you a line you can't get. Technically it may have been offered at some time but they release it after it's moved. That gives them an extra 2-3% of EV on the pick. Over time, that's significant, and it's also how they can post a 56% record but the followers are hitting 51% and not turning a profit. There's always incentive for a pick seller to game their record. Lastly, and most importantly, if you are buying picks you are betting into far more vig than everybody else. Let's say you're paying $50 per pick. If you are a $500 bettor betting -110 lines, you're now having to lay $600 to win $500. That means the breakeven point for you has shifted from 52.45% to 54.55%. Combine that with the tout gaming his record and the lines he gives out and you are almost certain to lose money in the long-run buying picks. Also keep in mind, most people who buy picks aren't betting $500/game. It only magnifies the less you are actually betting. Even if you find someone who beats a market and is honest with his record and releases available lines, you still will have a hard time overcoming the economics of the extra vig that buying picks adds to your overall return.

I have a question for Captain Jack and/or Spanky. For a game like soccer, is betting the correct score, game score totals or team score totals considered "meat and potatoes" by the sportsbooks?
@CaptainJackAndrews3 жыл бұрын
In a major league like the EPL, yes, they'll take that all day every day. In some third tier league they probably don't want as much derivative action.

Captain Jack, incredible show. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for what type of account to keep my seldom-used bankroll in? Thanks!
@CaptainJackAndrews4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm always a fan of making your money work for you even when you're not working it. You'd want to keep some of it on deposit in a book, perhaps up to 20%, then a large portion (40%) of it in some kind of liquid account or account which you can get at quickly. Then the remaining 40% can be kept in investments that you'd rather not liquidate frequently but that you can if you want. My suggestions are largely based on fiat standard currencies. If you're more of a crypto guy you can apply them there as well as there are some stable coins and others which are more speculative.

Hey Cap Jack, one of the guys mentioned betting second half college basketball totals. Would you be willing to share some thoughts or strategies on this? Like what to look for in the first half to then help define a second half play? For example is a fast pace good for a second half over? Or does lots of fouls in first half translate to lots of fouls and points on second half? Etc...

"How much can you make...?" - I don't like the three answers given, because how much you can make mostly depends on your bankroll. Even a top bettor who doubles his bankroll every two years can make no more than 1000 bugs the first two years if he starts with 1000.
@jamesrav3 жыл бұрын
people go into sports betting with 'pie in the sky' hopes, yet the simple math shows that making $$$ is very tough at 1% margins. You really need to find / create a model that *appears* to give a higher ROI than just a few percent, it has to be 6% or more. Then you run it and see what happens.

I kind of sense that this panel does not have an interest in sports, considering that arbitrage betting & bets on all sports was discussed. If you frequently watch the 3 major sports, I believe you can make a living & then some. Simply because of your interest in those sports.

This had some great content, but it seems a lot of information you give out is for the advanced bettor. Computer code, models, bots placing bets although interesting I have no idea how to accomplish this. It seems you hold back on the information that counts the most, like the question was ask how much of a bank roll do you need to start making a living at this. No amounts were given, and most of the information you give out is very vague. I have watch around 12 videos and still have no idea how to make good picks, or the process of making them.
@CaptainJackAndrews4 жыл бұрын
Mike, betting on sports is all about constantly sharpening your skill. There's no formula or system to follow. That's what makes all those people trying to sell you on their system so transparently fake. Winning at this requires learning the market and learning how to identify angles. There's no single correct way to make good picks and no set process to do it. My goal is to progress you on your path to becoming as good at sports betting as you want to become. However, it's going to require you taking the steps forward, I'm just here to guide you and give you ideas and things to think about to keep you on that path.

Hi, Am in Canada, I want to know if there is any1 who needs an additional head. I am psychic and sometimes have it, somethimes am besides it because sports was not my field of interest. I was more of an artist. I speak French English and Romanian. I am willing to travel with my laptop for overtime fulltime work. If I get explained by some1 everything he knows, I could do the job he needs. Like focusing on 1 particular sport.

I worked as a Sports Trader in one of the leading european bookies . Books in Europe is a joke . You can get limited to pennies after a couple of bets . Even if you loose ))) Unless you bet some parlays or moneyline on a clear favorite . It's a clear fraud business for most of european bookies . Who just want you to move to their casino section .
