They wanted either Hakus spot or Thunderbolt, and HHH put his foot down regarding Thunderbolt due to his age and health potentially preventing an induction in 2025, so Haku got the short end of the stick. I think Cornette was the one who said he heard it thru the grapevine.

I almost feel sorry for Bill after all these years even though I shouldn't. He's gotta be nearing 80 and still does this passionately. He should be enjoying retirement. I have no idea if he's ever made decent money doing what he does. He doesn't appear to be financially rewarded for all he's given to his craft and to the world of wrestling. Back in the late 80s, when I was buying wrestling mags, he seemed to be the biggest name for wrestling news, much like the legendary Dick Enberg was for sports. I just hope he's earned a decent income over the years. Having worked for the WWE at one time he along with Haku, should both be and both belong in the WWE Hall of Fame!
