Easily Kotchy's best game so far of the season. Whatever Coach said to him during the second period last game must have stuck with him cause he's been doing fantastic. Props to the Debs for the tight D and Tending they had this game. Always a good day when we win in Whalers Jerseys.

The Hurricanes are actually a relocated team from Hartford, Connecticut. Once a year the team holds a week where they were the old jerseys of the team from before the relocation.

I’m from Toronto and watch a ton of hockey. Every morning I wake up, have my coffee, and watch all the games highlights. Anyways, my point is, every goal that goes in comes out of the net so fast that it’s hard to tell for the fans if it goes in. This seems like it’s been going on for the last 3-5 years and I hate it. Why not go back to the looser netting when someone scored and the puck went into the net it actually stayed in the net. I hear no one complaining about this but it drives me nuts.

I hear you and have felt the same for a little while. I think it's not the biggest issue due the camera recaps, at least why it's not discussed more.

Because there’s not a big enough market. People love the jerseys but there’s not a lot of people that live in Hartford. I use to live in Hartford and was born there and there was not a big enough market. Whaler’s Night is more successful than having a team in Hartford. Plus there’s nearby teams so many people in Hartford cheer for Boston or the Rangers. It’s also why Quebec City isn’t too likely to get a team and it’s because people in Quebec City have had to settle with close by teams. They’d rather expand to larger potential markets and not smaller areas that have nearby teams. If a NHL team does pop up in Hartford it will be good for a few years but will likely lose a ton of money once hype dies down they’ll be losing tons of money. They’ll have very loyal and die hard fans but it won’t be a massive fanbase. Having awesome jerseys and an epic logo doesn’t make a team successful. Like look at the Coyotes. If there’s too many teams then it hurts the teams and prevents the league from growing markets. The league already gives most the attention to already established markets and neglects new markets and developing markets. For Carolina they down right insulted the fans when the Canes won the cup back in ‘06. The league should stay at 32 teams.

Games tend to have a lot more goals scored and will occasionally have games where both goalies are shutting the other team out for the vast majority of the game but right now goalie save percentages are a lot lower than a few years ago and there’s more goals.

Carolina plays gutless defensive hockey. They just trap and play boring hockey. I feel sorry for their fans. At least teams like Toronto, Colorado, Vancouver try to score. Boston, Winnipeg, Dallas, Carolina trap and just play defensive hockey all game. BORING

Defensive hockey isn’t gutless it just shows off a different type of hockey IQ. Offensive teams like Toronto don’t have goaltending and defense that’s fun to watch because they just suck. Also the Canes do have a lot of offensive possession time. I mean yes high offensive games with little defensive skill like Toronto games can be fun for people who just want goals and don’t care about the skills shown then sure yeah you can find Canes hockey boring. But gutless? Toronto plays gutless hockey. They just give up on plays and play completely gutless defense that’s a trash fire.

What team invented that style? What team won a cup with that style? The Devils!!!!! They were worse because they used a clutch and grab style. They are the reason for so many of these cheesy calls now.
