Boy Howdy, we are deep down the JJ channel rabbit hole since discovering it a few weeks ago…BUT is there anyway you can add chapters with restaurant titles (which makes it easier to bookmark) and/or include a list of the places in your description? Yes we’re food nerds…🤓

Heading back to NYC next week and will be assessing some of the newer Manhattan bagel stops including Apollo (And Utopia?). Also wondering if I will just crave and OG lox situation. Who is your OG classic NYC Bagel of choice? I’ve always ended up at Ess-a.

Is it my imagination, or was volume 2 entirely Brooklyn edition? (not complaining, just an observation.) As for being a bagel purist - I'm right there with you, which makes me ask - was it Apollo's decision, or yours to not include a slice of tomato? For years, I was like a lot of people who balked at the price of the quintessential NYC bagel combination (bagel, cream cheese, lox, capers, red onion, and a Jersey tomato - which usually runs about $17-21.) I finally (thankfully!) tried it after about a decade in NY and realized it's absolutely worth the price. (My knee jerk reaction was also wanting to customize the order, as the idea of a tomato on a bagel didn't sound all that appealing, but I figured I'd default to the classic pairing with an open mind, and I''m glad I did. The combination is clearly well thought out, and I recommend anyone coming to (or living in) NY, to splurge at least once and give it a try - exactly how it is, no substitutions. And for the love of God, absolutely no toasting! I'd even go so far as to say the bagel and lox full combo personifies the city above all other NY iconic food dishes - even pizza. (whereas pizza can be found just about everywhere, a true bagel and lox full works combination is pretty much found ONLY in NY.) Nonetheless, the question still remains! No tomato? (I respect it, either way!)
