Wow I love your enclosure :D it’s so cool! How often do you move/ change things around in their cages?? I always buy a lot of accessories and I don't want to move things around too much/ often because I don't want to stress her out but I also get too impatient and want to always put in new things lol. Would you say like 2 weeks or so is a good time to move around some things without them stressing out too much?

Hahaha aww you should not worry too much loads of people say that if you move things around it will cause your hamster to become stressed but personally ive never experience that. Hamsters get bored easily especially cashmere so she loves it when i move things around or put in new items it gives her a chance to explore new things. If you know they have fav areas or items within the cage its sometimes best to leave them in there to keep them happy. I move things around whenever i feel like it really the hamsters dont mind at all. But i do like to keep their main sleeping area the same because i know thats where they feel most comfortable and i dont want to upset them. At the moment that wooden house in cashmere cage stinks of wee not badly but i kept smelling a slight pee smell every so often. i knew it was coming from her cage so i would clean the corners and change the sand hoping it would help but i could still smell something some days and then i just realised its been her house all along ! shes been peeing in it the cheeky thing haha so i need to get her a new one but she loves it so much i dont want to take it away from her just yet thats the only place she sleeps and spends so much time in there haha . so i cant wait to pick up a new house as soon as i get the chance to go to pets at home next xxx

When you get a new hamster it’s best to let them settle in for a few days. He’s probably just a bit scared so give him some time to get used to his new surroundings. What food are you feeding him ? X

@@malicahamilton Well I’m trying to bond a relationship but he doesn’t seem interested. And I don’t know what to do 😰😩. Maybe he doesn’t like human interaction? but I remember when I first got him he was interested and he seemed to like me. I don’t know what I did different. When I try to pick him up I would have to get his favorite snack and put it on my hand. Then I would pick him up and he would be VERY fidgety so I put him back in his cage. But then he would stand up on his back legs and look at me as if he wanted to be picked up again. I got him 4 months ago

It doesn’t need any modifications no however ... the base is wood so that can be an issue for some because over time it can get ruined from your hamster chewing and urinating in the corner. There is not much you can go about chewing however potty training your pet will stop them from wanting to pee in the corner as often because they will still do it. Some people have put Lino on the base and I’ve used cage liners in the past but I stopped. The cage itself is fine perfect for a hamster

i appreciate how sweet and giving you are to your robo, but i’d suggest replacing the wood bedding with paper bedding so the chances of respiratory issues is decreased, also flying saucers arent the best for robots because they tend to fly off, and because they’re very sensitive animals, they could easily break something if they hit the glass, or they fall the wrong way, it’s just not a safe idea. getting a wheel that doesn’t bend your hamsters back and isn’t wire is what’s best for your little one. in no way am i trying to insult your hamster parenting, just trying to give some suggestions for your little one

My robo hamster died last February and I currently have no hamsters. Actually paper bedding not only is it more expensive but it can also cause respiratory problems. Carefresh is very expensive you get next to nothing in the bag. I’ve had a lot of bags over the years that have been dusty. You could see the dust from the substrate on top of items and one of my hamsters were actually sneezing. I actually prefer using wood based substrates you get more for your money and I’ve tried a lot of good ones. I use a lot of substrates from the reptile section and I like to mix and match them so there’s a variety of different textures. If I do use a paper bedding I always use it along side another substrate. My cage is not made of glass it’s made of plastic and I never once saw her fly into the actual cage. Some robos learn to slow down before just stopping. It doesn’t matter if it’s a flying saucer or a normal wheel they can still fly off even other dwarf species can. I’ve had hamsters for about 7 years and I know that metal wheels are bad mesh ones can cause bumble food and wired ones can cause your pets leg to get caught
