Master Yousun, greetings. Thank you for demonstrating Copper Spot welding. So far, no one has demonstrated this experiment , not that I have seen any. I tried Spot welding Copper and it was a total failure. Now I understood that Nickel and Copper needs to be laminated, in order to obtain a good fusion with parent metal. That is a good idea. Though you did not mention to increase the current, I understood the concept. I’ll be performing a Ni-Cu laminate and see how things go. Once again thank you for the Ni-Cu combination spot welding technique.

I wanted to ask you about the effort you exerted on the spot welder electrode handle. You almost put a pressure of about 20 pounds to get a decent weld. This may not be a good idea in the long run, I think. What type of Copper electrode are you using? Some users use a copper alloy. Please let me know the type of Copper Electrodes are used. Thanks. Could you specify the welding time in milliseconds? I have a controller circuit on the 555 timer and it is advisable to know the optimum welding time for a certain thickness of the tape (pure nickel). battery 2s2p Lifepo4.

Whats the Internal Resistance on those cells? Just curious what your overall resistance is for the whole pack and if you think it comes close to doing a 6S supercapacitor pack with 3000F caps.

I seriously doubt it. A 500F cap bank will have a very low ESR compared to a bunch of cylindrical cells. He would need a TON in parallel!

I am making a battery from P42A Molicel and need to pull up to 45A from the pack. So I need to use 0.5mm copper strips, will it work with this method? 0.2mm copper strips are only rated for 27A if 10mm in width

The only thing thats going to touch 0.5mm copper is something from SunStone. Expect to spend several thousand dollars. Also, you can't pull 45A continuous from 42A's only 25A. You can burst 40-45A but you need cool down time

I bought 0.15 mm nickel strip from aliexpress but my spot welder can not weld it. On the other hand my spot welder can weld 0.15 and 0.20 steel plate. Why can not weld nickel? Pls help me

The spot welder has insufficient current and the internal resistance of the nickel piece is relatively small.
