'I've fished Ashmead twice, when Mark (Skeff) Walsingham had it... its not an easy water... last time I fished it (2018) I dropped one of the big girls... gutted, but I'll never fish it again, not while the Carp society has it

I'm confused you said you were fishing single hook baits but you then scattered obout 20 boilies around the rig . I thought fishing singles was just that with no freebies.

Started off single hook bait with no other baits around it but then added a few freebies when spotted fish to draw them onto the hook bait. The tactics changed a lot here just to get a bite
