Got full arts for both queen and king. Just love the evo lines. Yeah you will lose a lot, but the feeling of a Mewtwo one shot with Queen is so worth it.

I've been trying to get nidoqueen to work (mainly for the theme bc it's so expensive), and unfortunately, I've reached the same conclusion, the purest nidoking deck without koga is probably better off with just the first blue evolve to compensate for how slow the blue nidoran makes your game, to me there could be a nidoqueen EX having the same effect but costing less for each king on bench or something

Still bad for EX. 130 for 5- energy (if no Nidoking) is still awful. Even a built in ability to skip Nidorino wouldn’t help with the need to draw 12+ cards

@Lybrel the setup for the queen is just too slow and it feels unnecessary about 95% of the time, the mana thing would end up costing 1 (-2 from the kings on bench), but I guess it lacks ways to make 3 2nd stage evolves so it wouldn't change much, maybe an additional attack for early trades or facilitating the deck's gimmic could help

The nidoran family is player friendly. You dont discard energy cards or make coin flips while battle. The energy cost is tied to the evolution. Basic is 1 energy, stage 2 is 2 energy and stage 3 is 3 energy. I combine them with slima and muk as stall and poison support.

I suppose it’s a bit too early to introduce TAG TEAM cards to the game, but combining Nidorino and Nidorina into a single card could definitely strengthen the deck. Releasing a Rare Candy card would benefit most two-stage decks, but it wouldn’t significantly improve a “Nidoqueen & Nidoking” one.

I suspect we'll get a support card that lets you evolve from base stage to stage 2, and we'll get an upgraded pokeball cards that will let us discard one card in hand to draw a stage 1/2 card, or draw an ex. Just my guess and hope lol

Jake, you should try putting Nidoking with Weezing. I've been having a blast with the poison deck

Been doing the same thing and it works really well, Koga builds a wall of Weezings then Nidoking comes out and wrecks things. Poison also tends to make your opponent nervous and can force misplays. Unless your hand is terrible it wrecks Mewtwo decks and can even do well against Charizard decks. Pikachu tends to beat it since that deck is so stupidly hyperspeed fast, but it's still a load of fun.

I have found that Weezing is the best support for Nidos. Two Weezings and 1 Nido each, allows you to build both up while swapping out with Koga, and using Queen more for damage and King as the last resort. Just because it takes too long to get them both ready King is better left on the bench.

@@solidzack Respectfully I have never once played against a Mewtwo deck that didn't have all the cards they needed within two turns. The RNG gods hate the Nidoqueen deck, you'll be pulling Kanghastans and support cards for 84 years before you ever get a Nidorina in your hand.

You just have to laugh that Nidoqueen, with TWO Nidokings on the bench, only hits for 180, while Charizard EX, for just one more energy and... literally no other benched pokemon required, deals 200 in one hit.

@zachbates3292 Yep but the Zard player would have had to have exceptionally bad luck to only be deploying Zard at 4 energy. Most of the time Zard is only brought out at a minimum of 5. With Moltres EX, it's very easy to chuck a bunch of energy on Zard, which is why I don't consider it to be a drawback worth mentioning.

Was neat to see you trying similar strategies I've done for the deck. Nidoqueen being able to 1 hit ko a Mewtwo EX feels so good, but the deck is just slow. I found abandoning the nidoqueen line, unless against mewtwo, helped some. I hope this deck gets some help in the future though as I found it quite fun to play

My Nido deck is also a weezing deck (I know real original) 2 weezing (and koga), 2nidoking, 1nidoqueen. This gives the stall and pressure you need to power up the nidos. Basically weezing is early game threat, Nidoking is the mid game closer, and if you get to the bottom of your deck in a long game, nidoqueen can do that big damage needed for the finish

Could you run a second NidoranF over Meowth and then still run only one Nidorina and Nidoqueen? That way you have one NidoranF specifically to make sure you have all your Nido cards and one to build your Nidoqueen for the end game

Nidoking is my favorite Pokémon so I wish he worked better. It's not just the energy, it's just too slow. Needs something like an ability to find another Nido to guarantee to have all three stages, or a supporter to skip stage 1. I've been having a lot of fun with Melmetal, but it's admittedly less than optimal. If Meltan had Amass as an ability so you could use it even if you go first, it would be far more viable, but still slow compared to Pika and Mewtwo

i also came up with this deck but through a different route, thanks to not having cards. I don't use meowth, i use the pokedex tech. 2 of them. With it you get to see your next 3 cards, if you don't like them, reshuffle your deck with pokeball or nidorina. It's surprisingly consistant and a bit safer against red card. I don't have nidorina so, yeah, i only run nidoran female and a snorlax or tauros for tanking (don't have a khangaskhan). I originally wanted to try this with double machamp ex, but i didn't have enough cards (now i do and it's so good). With all the cards, i might only add nidorina so it's not dead weight at the end, maybe (probably) also nidoqueen since i almost always end up with 2 nidokings, and i do think the tank can be pretty great in this deck, maybe tauros or a regular mewtwo instead for actual pivoting

you should try this again with 2 chatot. Only one line each of nidoqueen and king. Have 2 female nidoran (to call the one male) and one kangaskhan. The idea is to build your nidoqueen as fast as possible, focus your energy and use that to attack first. Use chatot to find your next evolutions, kangaskhan to buy time. By the time you have a nidoqueen, you should have a nidoking very soon. Then power up your nidoking. In late game, you should be able to swap your queen and king with leaf.

I like the deck, but it's pretty slow to start. Especially if you don't pull what you need right away. I like to set up Nido F as the basic opener and get Nido M evolved as quick as possible while feeding energy to Nido F. The problem with that strat is everybody knows it's coming and even if they can stop it, half the time the deck itself holds you back.

so i have a way to Nidoqueen you have 2x queen and 2x king when you start the match put all energy on nidoran (Female) and spam call for family or just place males down if you have them and upgrade usually you'll have an even amount of each evo so you can get the kings and queens at the same time but mainly focus on the queen in active slot i have used Nidoqueen so many times and beat multiple Pikachu ex and mewtwo ex decks if you can only start with males then focus on getting Nidoking My deck basic: 2xNidoran(female) 2xNidoran(male) stage1: 2xNidorina 2xNidorino stage2: 2xNidoqueen 2xNidoking items: 2xPokeballs 1xRedcard 1xXspeed 1xPotion support: 2xProfessor'sResearch 1xSubrina

I’ve had a good time playing nidoking with arbok. Always feels good trapping a poisoned mon with arbok after hitting it for 90. Was beating meta decks when I had good draw. Heard you mention baby mewtwo being the new tank. I have not had good results running it in my mewtwo deck. Every time I played it, I always wished it was a mewtwo ex

I don't think Nidoqueen decks will be viable until they add some kind of Pokémon Breeder equivalent to the game, or better ways to fish for/accelerate evolutions. Needing multiple stage 2s up to start dealing decent damage is a lot to ask.

I was gonna say golem, since I can't really say nidoqueen (king's fine it's queen that sucks) since the video's about her, and my second though was golem but at least brock gives it some traction. I just wish a couple of the normals worked better. Lickitung needs 3 energy just for a misty roll which more often than not will roll tails, and especially snorlax is god awful for how strong it is in the games. He's a classic and he's a dead card unfortunately.

So two decks I've been having fun with, but are shite. 1. I call it GaryNinja. 2x gyarados, 2x greninja, 2x Misty and then whatever trainers you like. It has won some games, it's been tense, but christ do I love Gyardos. Sexond on is SleepyEnts, 2x non EX Exeggutor, 2x Vileplume. Both terrible decks, but I've been having fun with them, so good for me XD.

Be Misty: Hates bug type pokemon. She's a water type gym leader, so fire pokemon are out of the question. Flying pokemon are ok, but the only water/flying type in gen 1 was Gyarados which she is afraid of. Bugs have an advantage over psychic types which Starmie is. Her only hope is Goldeen using peck...
