John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Author and is discussing how to apply kinesiology tape for an ankle inversion sprain to the ATFL and CFL ligament as well as a strain to the peroneal muscles. The tape can also help the following; tarsal tunnel, overpronation, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, mortons neuroma, shin splints and stress fractures.
These techniques plus more are covered on the Kinesiology Taping course at Core Elements in swindon and also online bodymaster-method.mykajabi.co...
John also has Hip videos and he discusses an acetabular labral tear and also a femoroacetabular impingement called an FAI - these are cam and pincer type of impingement. He also mentions perthes disease and osteoarthritis of the hip joint. John also discusses how the hip flexors (psoas) are involved and the iliofemoral ligaments and how they cause an inhibition to the gluteus maximus (Gmax) through the hip extension firing pattern test. Janda and the lower crossed syndrome is also mentioned and how this can cause lower back, facet or disc pathology of L5 or L5 and involve the nerve roots.
John also shows you in his other videos to assess the nerve root level of the adductors (obturator nerve through L3 reflex), patella tendon (femoral nerve through L4 reflex), semitendinosus (tibial / sciatic nerve of L5 reflex) and Achilles / plantar (tibial nerve of sciatic through S1 reflex) and a normal response is classified as 2++. Any reduced hypo-reflex (1+) or increased hyper-reflex (3+++) with Clonus and Babinski positive as might indicate some form of upper motor neurone lesion like Multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord tumour or brain injury.
These techniques and more is taught on the Shoulder and Cervical Master-Class at the University of Oxford.
In terms of his courses he offers, you can attend one at a time if you prefer or book all ten and receive a discount. Once you have completed all the courses you will be able to call yourself a Bodymaster Method ® Practitioner and be registered on his website with the letters 'BmP' after your name.

I have this injury and have been self taping ...Looking for a good instructive video to share to a fellow sufferer.. I will suggest that instead of sitting, you might support the front part of the foot on a plinth or a chair to get better support and to better administer the tape sections when standing up..This is the only way that I can get away doing it properly ( = elderly gent)

Loved anchoring the first strip on medial mallets, I didnt have enough leverage coming from just the bottom of foot. Slipped on Black doing home care PT, last week. I also love the wider distribution, and got all 3 ligaments covered. Now can go back to the trenches to see my motor vehicle accidents, gun shot wounds, total joints, etc. With over over and high tops, should be in much better shape. Ice, ultrasound and tape . Thanks

Hi, John! Great video. Very clear!! Question: I've seen other videos where they crisscross over the top -- which I guess is for a different type of sprain. How do you know whether do this configuration or the crisscross configuration?

A really helpful and easy to learn tutorial. I needed it based on the recent events. I went to the hospital to take care of my foot. They just scanned it, told me that I turned my ankle and just to put ice. They never wrapped it...

How's the above method different from kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6a8eGCijMetjJY Do we try the above video when you have to apply the tape by yourself, whereas the other one when there's someone else available who could help apply the tape?
