Just a tip! If you mask up really well around your cooker top and open your extractor fan you will have a great indoor extraction system while you paint it on the hob top. Crack a window for airflow btw. Or in this oddly epic summer outside would be fine obviously. Unless it’s flying any day.

Top job but i think you may regret WHITE when the suns bright! Best buy some THICK SHADES! A mate of mine showed me the 'show polish trick' to black any plastic WORKS SUPERB! The show polish with the little sponge on the end just sponge it on give it a coupla coats WELL SICK! Even did the bumpers with this method.

How long did you leave between coats and how long between changing from primer to paint and to clear coat?

Centre looks great . Have you also done the side vents . The ones far left and right of the dash , if so how do you remove them ????? Regards Ian.

Thnaks for the positive feedback. Yep, I've done both the side vents. You have to open the door and then remove the end panel from the dash that butts up against the door when it's closed (it just pops off) - Then there is a small T20 or T25 screw holding the vent on from behind. It's a bit of a pain getting your hand in there but it's only that one scren holding it on.

I think I only bought one can of spray and one of lacquer and still had some left!

You should have used 320 grit paper after every coat once dry to remove any imperfections, also once final white coat is done again use 320 grit to smooth off before putting on clear coat. Top tip it it’s a hot sunny day then leave the painted items on the dash to cook

Just curious, did you use the plastikote plastic primer and colour? Did it give a good gloss? I’m thinking of using it for the door cards on mine. Cheers

Lovely gloss, wouldn’t be too confident how it’d hold up on door cards tho, they take a battering and it could chip fairly easily

There is a small T25/T30 screw located directly in the back of the small vent. You can get access to it by removing the end panels off the edge of the dash. I had to undo mine using a small T25/T30 bit in my hand, its a really tight fit back there! Hope that helps

@@GDUBTV Hi - I've managed to start this task and after slicing my hand to bits managed to find a small ratchet torque tool that will fit in the gap and managed to remove the screw LOL . Issue is that the vent thing will not come out!! I am putting some degreaser on the gaps to see if that will loosen it.... Haven't started on the drivers side yet.. Side point I sprayed the centre radio trim as your per your video , many thanks it looks great. keep up the great videos.

Glad they've been some help. There is indeed loads of choice on head units, it can all get a bit overwhelming tbh! Took me ages to decide to go for my one. Kept an eye out on eBay and one came up cheap so I took the plunge!
