Wish I had advice this good years ago, would have saved a lot of headaches. Post some vids of your work if you can Lequon 👍 I've made some pretty effective spray booths with just 2x2 frame, plastic, and windows fans with furnace filters (with other filter mediums). Hay Spray Way your videos has helped my shop in tremendous ways thanks. Got a question a customer gave me some single stage metallic pearls I heard it's hard to spray? And if so can sand it down and clear over it? Thx
@chrisg13645 жыл бұрын
Single stage paint has the clear already in it right?
@jerryjordan45335 жыл бұрын
@@chrisg1364 Yes it does you can even mix it with clear. But I'm trying to shoot metallic pearls and they reflect light differently because they stand up in the paint with light hitting them at different angles if you wet sand the metallic pearls the paint looks dull so I'm thinking clear coat could wake them back up if any problems were to occur.
@SprayWayCustoms5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can shoot clear over it with no problem
@JesusSaves86AB5 жыл бұрын
@@jerryjordan4533Single stage metallic/pearl paints are difficult to get consistent due to pearls/flakes settling, even after thoroughly mixed. You can add matching pearl to clear and clear over single stage for uniformity. Single stage has a longer cure time but can also be cut & polished after such with a bit more finesse than you would 2k paints, urethanes, etc. Some guys using waterborne paints will layer pearls/flakes using various intercoat clears before top coat.
@chrisg13645 жыл бұрын
@@jerryjordan4533 that was a good question. I bought sum paint like that for sum mirrors i made. I was told once i sprayed it by paint shop that i couldnt clear over it. Sooo after sprayed my mirrors 1 had a run. Waited for it to dry and i sanded mirror back down and resprayed the whole thing. I should have just fixed the run then shot clear on it. That's why we got Spray Way!! Always here to help!!

@SprayWayCustoms5 жыл бұрын
If the entire car needed to be totally stripped down to bare metal, I would. Thanks

Unless the car needs a lot of rust repair you shouldn't need to. Just sand all the gloss out of the paint, if it's dull when it's dry you're good. Then bodywork and prime any bare metal or body filler then base/clear
