Tiffany, this is great news. I had a cancerous lung nodule (metastasis from colon cancer) surgically removed 11 years ago. I had many follow up scans, but no further treatment. I am now working full time, being cancer free. I hope the same for you in your future!

So good to hear. I read that surgery is a better option for cure than ablation. I hope Tiffany considers this. Did you also get additional systemic treatment such as chemo or immunotherapy after surgery?

@@Taniiiia393 No, no further treatment. Only follow-up scans. I did chemo after the initial surgery for colon cancer, but not after removal of the lung met. I would have needed really good evidence as to how that would have improved my survival to have gone through chemo again.

And whilst I‘m giving out unsolicited advice another thing I would make sure to ask your team is to clearly explain to you what the pros and cons of surgery vs ablation are. I‘m no expert but I can imagine the main advantage of ablation is that its minimally invasive. However I‘m under the impression that the odds of a definitive cure would be better with surgery? It is better to be safe than sorry as Cancer is insidious. Not to sound pessimistic, just be cautious. It appears the first hosp you went to was right when they suspected it had metastasized to the lung. It usually takes time to show up on tests. Likely they can still treat but making the best informed choices is crucial at times like this.

@@lindc1070 agreed, the first hospital seems to have been correct. Sometimes you have to be that patient that takes too much time from the med team by asking 200 questions and asking for extra scans and extra tests. We have to be our own best advocate as with stage 4 its a matter of life and death.

If it spread to another organ it is stage IV. You can’t be cure. You can be No evidence of disease but it is only because the cancer can’t be seen on pet scan. The cancer is still there. I don’t know if she understand that but stage IV = No cure sadly. At least she’s happy with the result but she won’t be cure from cancer if it spread to the lung.

You are so right. I remember telling my sisters that having cancer makes the sort of assuming we’ll be sitting on a porch in rocking chairs in our 80’s fly out the window. I’m feeling more confident of making it to my 80’s as I unwind from all the Covid staying inside and not driving, not able to do most stuff that made my life happy (truly so hard even when I got Covid I didn’t need to go to the Emergency Room and I didn’t die). It really aged me-like 10-15 years psychologically. I entered Covid time as a “young” Senior, and don’t feel so young now. I’m working on it. I’m in remission 21 years from my 1st BC; for 12 years from my 2nd BC; L mastectomies both times. Go figure. Very glad to still be alive. So glad Tiffany doesn’t have cancer in her liver.❤

Your happy reaction to having cancer in your lung is something I completely identify with -- in 2018 when it was clear that my husband had cancer, his oncologist had to do scans to determine what kind of cancer he had, pancreatic or Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. When we discovered that it was NHL, our whole family celebrated! It was still cancer, but pancreatic is almost always deadly, while my husband's cancer had a very good treatment option, (and it was successful for him; he is 3-1/2 years cancer-free). So I totally relate to the happiness regarding one cancer over the other! :) OH... and CONGRATULATIONS that your liver is healthy!!! You got this on the rest!!!

Sorry to debunk your saying, she was never cancer free. Cancer cells remains dormant for the long time then shows up in the scan randomly. Cancer spread to her lungs but as it was dormant, it was looking like a nodule not proper cancer cells so they were monitoring from a long time as she mentioned lungs part before also when she had stomach cancer. She is lucky that hers showed immediately after the surgery. I am really wishing she will be actually cancer free soon.
@miipmiipmiip

Saying she was cancer free was simply not correct. What she could have said is having no evidence of disease (NED) and then you wait the five years of necessary active surveillance in case of a recurrence. Then you might say you are cancer free but many don't as sometimes cancer takes longer to reoccur.

Tiffany, please don't trust to doctors for 100 %. Do your own research, talk to other cancer patients. I am not a cancer specialist, but I am a former health professional. There is highly quality evidence that resection of tumor has much better outcome than ablation. Recurrence rate is higher after ablation than resection. Chemotherapy after surgery would lower chance of cancer recurrence. I think they should do biopsy of the liver after lung surgery.

Am a doctor and I absolutely agree. I would request a liver biopsy. You do not want that to run rampant and potentially spread to bones, brain. I don’t like that they are unsure what this is. I’m sure you know things don’t show up on PET unless it’s quickly processing sugar, as cancer cells do. I also don’t like this bc they seemed unsure of the lungs since her dx. I know it can be easier to enjoy good news, but they need to know what they liver growth is.

I think this every time I see lovely Tiffany enjoying sugary, carbohydrate-filled foods & drinks. A high-starch diet is terrible for the immune system and causes inflammation, increasing and accelerating the risk of systemic disease. Of course, cutting sugar/going keto is not a miracle cure-all - but there's certainly a wealth of data to suggest it could be beneficial in fighting cancers. I'm certain it'll be widely acknowledged in the future. It's a shame the healthcare system doesn't promote this more as an adjunct.

Hi Tiffany prayers, well wishes and blessings from Sri Lanka. I am so so happy that it's one less thing for you to worry about. You breathed life into me with the positivity you showed. Your mom looked like she was not sure if she was sitting or standing when in the room . Her face was so flushed and she looked devastated. My heart bled for her. Being a mom I know what would have been going through here mind. And Matt god he was so anxious. God bless you all I'm praying for you and your family always. Stay strong we got this❤❤❤❤

I really wish people would stop telling you how to treat your illness, especially when a lot of what I’m seeing is based on unsubstantiated information that often doesn’t help at all and has no reliable evidence to back it up. Please continue living your life in a way that makes you happy and listening to the advice of actual experts. Much love, well wishes and respect from the US.

That's the worst advice, "listen to the experts, don't question anything" if I kept listening to the experts, I would still be ill and medicated and I would never have healed like I did, the experts recommend complex carbohydrates (with moderation) and eating several times a day, the experts focuses on meds they don't know what's causing the problem, they just put a bandaid on you, and you feel better and you think you're cured, but they just got rid of the symptom not the cause

I don't understand why some people are saying Tiffany is in denial. I don't think that at all. Rather she is doing a good job staying in good mental health and continuing with life. The fact that cancer is serious is obvious. But succumbing completely to panick and misery is not helpful to anyone. All she can do is proceed in the present and try to be hopeful while following her doctor's treatment plans.

I’m so glad it’s not in the liver too. I’ve just watched 2 or 3 videos, so this comment might be all over. lol Your vacation video was so pretty. I love the painting you brought home. It will look so good in your house. I feel for Amma and Matt getting the news and having to wait while you get your scan. I have to get a MRI this week. I keep getting headaches. So they want to be sure that cancer has not spread to my brain. The next few days will be nerve wracking. In 2 more weeks I’ll be getting the Net Spot PET scan. So the next few weeks will just be a real joy. lol. When I was little in the 70’s and a teen in the 80’s I use to love to get the pens that had 4 or more colors. The 4 color pen was white on top with the 4 color switches and blue on the bottom. Oh how I loved that pen. Every now and then. Maybe it was around Easter or Christmas. I would get a pretty pen that had several colors in it. They were always a little thicker and had a pretty decorative body of the pen. I haven’t had Tic Tac’s in a long time. I’m going to see if I can get that flavor here. I love both Cherry and menthol. So they sound good.

Thank the doctors for shrinking the cancer. Why did God create a world full of cancer? If cancer takes a person out, then what do we say? Why is their so much religion on here? This world is full of suffering. God made both the world AND the devil (if you believe all that). Why make a devil if your love your children? Would you make a devil do be with your kids? A Satan. Does that make sense?
