Those are beautiful plants and you are so full of great ideas like Trading or something trading plants for plants you can trade something else for a plant! Just like you talked about having someone who's flying somewhere to take on the box of plants as extra baggage! And all the ideas of helping plants grow in different substances I just find your channel amazing and I'm sure a year from now you're going to have thousands of subscribers! Hi! Yes, I probably can eventually but in the meantime, plants meow has a good one. All I really do is cut the chunk, or a piece of the chunk, off of the anthurium and then put it in high humidity in perlite on a heat mat under a grow light. I talk about it a bit in a video that’s going to be on Legends of Monstera’s channel probably at the end of the month, so keep an eye out for that!

I picked up a Anthurium cirinoi Velvet the next day from Ecuagenera (pre-order). Yours is much bigger! I mounted mine in order to minimize the chance of rot.

You can order the butterflies in bulk. I got these from Etsy. I definitely didn’t collect them all 🤣. You also have to be really careful to follow local laws about collecting insects because it’s considered poaching in a lot of places. These were probably farmed.

@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet thanks for that info I was wondering about them so it's just like growing things on a farm so people have things to eat! These butterflies are raised I live in a safe environment from predators until it's time is up. I know in Maryland part of the first grade curriculum is watching monarch butterflies hatch and watch the caterpillars grow and turn into butterflies. So there's a whole other world out there I guess to raise these butterflies and sell them. What an exciting hobby to have our business to have to be surrounded by all that beauty. Thanks for letting me know how you acquired them you do a beautiful job displaying them and you have so many great ideas I just love your Channel! And when you end up having 20,000 subscribers you won't have time to answer my dumb questions teehee

@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet it's funny when I'm on some of these big time websites on KZbin or I should say channels I guess, sometimes I'm the one that ends up trying to answer the questions because I enjoy reading the comments and I always learn something from some comment someone posted. And that's why I found your channel because you posted on Serena's Channel and I just click the little circle with your picture on and it took me to your Channel. And even if someone doesn't have any content or videos posted you can see what they subscribe to and I found some places that I like from what they had saved. KZbin is a fascinating place especially to someone in their 70s

Okay so after 9 months who do you prefer? Cirinoi or metallicum? I have the choice. But only for one. Please help!!

Oh dear… that’s difficult to say. They are honestly both kind of difficult. I think I like my cirinoi better but the one in this video actually rotted in pon over the winter and is now just a chunk with a bunch of scraggly leaves on it. The metallicum grows so slowly. It’s only working on its second leaf in 9 months right now and I’m terrified to take it out of the tent. One thing to keep in mind is that I think cirinoi are a bit easier to get so if you have the chance with a metallicum now, maybe do that and get the cirinoi in the future. But make sure you feel good about providing the conditions though.

Do you recommend to pre-order the plant and pick up or they have enough plants to buy at the show day ? Are the prices are better then on their website?

Hi! If they have plants in stock on the website that you know you want, then preordering is probably a good idea, but there were a LOT of things there that I’ve never seen in stock on the website. Also, It was so crowded and crazy that my friend who did place a preorder had to wait a long time to get her plants. I would highly recommend getting there as early as possible and try to be first in line. We were second and got everything we were looking for.

Also, the prices are not better than on the website, they were more expensive but that’s because shipping and phyto sanitary and what not were already factored in. It probably comes out to be about the same.
