Bottom lip hookups. Maybe the bait is spinning, after deflecting off cover? Or the bass are hitting it head first from above it?

Yeah it's really strange. I'd say at least 50% of them are in odd placements. I was thinking the same thing, it can be spinning or swimming funny. Overall it's a decent little swimbait. I've only lost a couple in several outings. Thanks for watching 👊
