In love with the polka-dot background, I’m a polka dot girl too. These cards are Springy, Lord knows we need Spring, great job coloring,! As far as Spiders, well, you need a flat shoe without ridges, sneakers never work for me. I tend to be the exterminator (maniacal laugh) in my household of men, they don’t do spiders! Years ago bought what was called a bug catcher. It was basically a hand vacuum with 12 inch tube and a slanted top to cover the bug and suck it up..my family would not catch if I wasn't home. Worked great tfs ...happy Easter

I don't get close enough to them to smash them. I use a barn spray you can get at the Co-Op. It's called Durvet, Dairy Bomb-Z 50. They don't have a chance to survive! I HATE SPIDERS!!!!!! I love my Inktense pencils but they are called InkTENSE for a reason. I use mine along side my regular Derwent watercolor pencils to tone them down. Great card, great coloring!

That polka dot stamp is a must have, that stamp set is perfect for some Mother's Day cards for my mom and aunts. Never thought to use these kind of color pencils. Might have to give them a try. Thanks for sharing. Your story is so relatable. I have the same issue since I live out in the county, near orchards. Just add snakes to that story and me screaming and jumping on my bed as my oldest son tries to trap a snake that was crawling along the top of my curtains! THE TOP! My kids still laugh about my reaction to this day.

Great story time, at this house I take care of the spiders (Hubby is scared to death of them), hubby takes care of all the mice, I,leave the house when they enter! Use either peppermint oil or a citrus oil like orange, lemon or lime. 10-15 drops of oil for every 2 cups of water. You can also add about 3 drops of dishwashing soap. Put in spray bottle and shake before using. It’s safe, simple and works!

Cute cards, way different style for you. Try hairspray and any bleachy cleaner. I mean both together. The hairspray will paralize it for a minute, knock it off the wall, and step on it. Happy spider hunting, and I hope you and your family have a great Easter.

Kudos to you for branching out, Kelly! :) I have had the Inktense pencils for a few years now, and LOVE them!!! I especially like that they are permanent when dry, and so it's really easy to layer colors without lifting what's already down. I don't know if the 24-count set has it, but the Mid-Vermilion is a more muted orange color, which would have been perfect for the carrots. (I have the full 72-count set, so I just don't know what's in the smaller sets. Yes, I love them that much!) Also, I found out (the hard way) that Versamark ink WILL move Inktense pencil coloring, even after it's dry. So, unless you want a mushy mess on your hands, don't even think about coloring over it with a Versamarker to clear heat emboss. Um, yeah. Anyway, I really love how soft your cards came out! Great job on the coloring--keep it coming! :)

We use the vacum cleaner on spiders. It is much easier, you dont have to get close to them. Love these cards!

jane don’t turn the vacuum off for a while. Used the shop vac for a wasps nest that was in our retaining wall. I left the vac running for 1/2 hour, then stuffed a rag into the suction hose, and wouldn’t let my husband put the shop vac in the garage for a couple of days.

You make it look so easy but I can't get them to dissolve properly. I need to try the paper you used. I think I am using the wrong kind of Canson watercolor paper.

Very cute. I love card sets like this. They say Spring for sure. I make a spider spray with an essential oil that works. If interested, I’d be happy to share it with you. It does work. I get spiders in my basement and since we no longer have a cat they often reappear. So I spray everything down there and it lasts for a few months! No toxic so safe for children and pets.

When I lived in South Africa, I was looking at houses to rent, and found one that was absolutely perfect in every way. Every way, that is, except for a giant rain spider (Google at your own risk) that was just chilling out on a door frame. I literally noped straight out, could not even entertain the thought of renting the house, knowing it had the potential for such monstrosities. The joke was on me though, the house I did rent ended up having them too. Love the card, as always!

Spiders don't like peppermint. I have a small spray bottle with water and peppermint oil and spray doors and windows etc. I think it helps some. And it smells good.

And your comment about them knowing now that you have a weakness for killing them properly, so hilarious! We should be best buds! Okay ladies, I have gotten a lot of requests for the non toxic spider spray. I already posted it but I’ll do it one more time. Use either peppermint or citrus essential oils. About 15 drops for every 2 cups of water. You can also add about 3 drops of liquid dish detergent. I use Dawn original. Put in spray bottle. Shake before using. This is safe around children and pets and it works.

I loved your story and adore the cards! Funny spider “fact” My grandfather was an Irish immigrant with a ton of superstitions. We were always told that we were not allowed to kill spiders because they “carried the souls of dead people to heaven and if we killed the spiders, the souls were sent to purgatory (do Catholics still believe in purgatory- I haven’t heard the word for YEARS!) Anyway, for that reason, I can’t kill them still, so my husband will often wake up in the morning and find a note in the kitchen “ there are 3 upside down bowls in the guest bath’s shower with spiders trapped- please take them outside” We never discuss it, so I am allowing myself to believe he does just that!

Technically inktense are not watercolors. They are a water soluble ink based pencil. The difference is once dry inktense is permanent and won't move where as watercolors will reactivate after dry. I have found that if you use gesso that you have more time to move the inktense and they will move a little more after dry cause the pigment sits on top of the gesso instead of soaking into the paper. I love inktense and miss mine. I can't wait to get them again. Oh btw you are way braver than me with those spiders. Just burn the house down shoot it or something. Yuck.
