I wish you would review outdoor car covers. I spend 5 months a year up in the White Mtns of AZ without a carport or garage. It is so confusing and frustrating to get facts on car covers. My big worry is hail damage to the aluminum hood & roof of my 2010 BMW Z4. Trying to determine the cover with the best protection (padding) is almost impossible. I would trust your reviews and comments over random "verified purchase" comments and reviews that we know can be fraudulent. Keep up the GREAT work, I recommend you to everyone I can.

Great video Pan! Really shows the need for consistent maintenance on these ceramic coatings. They are NOT completely set and forget products. You still need to do regular maintenance!
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. There's not such thing as set it and forget in the detailing world. Traffic film alone will clog any protection. So maintenance is key. The protection is still there, but you need to help it achieve its max performance level and durability.

Great illustration of how a proper wash improves a coating. Merci Pan
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's important to let my viewers know that a coating isn't necessarily "dead" just because it doesn't bead anymore. If the coating was properly applied, and properly maintained, and is still within its durability claims, it's probably just "clogged" and need a good decon wash.

Some brands you should look into are Artdeshine, Gloss It Evo, Underdog Pro, Meguiar's M788, Legendary Car Care Graphene's Coating, Vero's sprayable graphene coating, Victory Nano graphene coating, Dura-Coating Graph-X6 & Limit Less Car Care Kevlar Graphene coating. Those are some ones I think you should do a info filled video on that would be really interesting to watch since I've havent heard much about these brands

Now that's impressive. I would assume (to a certain extent) that the surface dirt will hide the hydrophobics of even lesser coatings or waxes. Thanks for the video, Pan.😎
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
That would be correct Shea. Grime and traffic film often mask the properties of any type of protection. But it's most noticeable on ceramic coatings due to their far superior hydrophobics, as soon as those are masked, the effect appears amplified.

Hi Pan, I’ll keep Adam’s Graphene products in mind, thank you. I’m still loving Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene Infused product line. FYI, The wheel barrel brush can scratch the paint on wheels if the rubber or plastic tip at the end of the brush becomes dislodged while using, the back and forth motion while cleaning can cause the tip to catch either on the brake rotor or the metal shield behind the rotor to knock the tip off- happened to me once, never again!

@@PanTheOrganizer thanks for the reply. I’ve been using a rinseless wash, since I discovered this channel. But I made a mistake of taking it to a car wash before and now have hairline scratches and swirls. Was looking into putting some kind of protection on the paint, but not sure how is the best way to go about, since buffing out those scratches outside might not be ideal and I haven’t really used a buffer before. Any suggestions on how to tackle the situation when working outside with the elements??
@lanjoh062 жыл бұрын
@ktes85, I’m in the same boat and could possibly offer my two cents. I plan for a good weather day (cloudy/overcast) or work towards the evening when the sun isn’t directly affecting my vehicle. I just recently installed this coating on our SUV and ended up “borrowing” a friends garage while they were out of town over the weekend. I’ve been detailing cars for over 15 years now specifically out of an apartment and it always involves a little bit of weather planning.

My biggest confusion now is how to maintain the Ceramic coating I put on and what are the true maintenance steps. Can I put another or better/different product over the last or does it have to be completely gone and worn off before next coating? Chemical Guys has you strip, then clay then ceramic, then seal, then a wet butter wax on top. One of your videos talks about not putting any wax or sealant on top of the ceramic. I am big on followup maintenance and I agree, taking the time to clean and detail my vehicle is therapy for me. So I want to do it correctly. I am sure I will stumble upon some of your other videos that might answer some of my questions. My son is as obsessed with his vehicles as I and I have already sent him links to your stuff. Thank you again.

I recently read that throwing the ceramic in the fridge before using helps in warmer weather conditions. Cold ceramic = longer working time & easier to remove. What do you think?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Most proper operating temperatures for coatings are 15C (59F) to 25C (77F) for optimal application. So I personally never heard that cooling them down to fridge temps (4C or 39F) is a good idea. What is important is to avoid working in direct sunlight. But yes the warmer and more humid conditions lead to faster flashing. The colder and dryer the environment, the longer work time you have. I always work at 20C (68F) in my garage. Perfect conditions. 40-45% humidity

Thanks for a great video.I have a bottle of Adams coating I might use on a MC. How was the durability on the plastic trim? Recommend Adams coating or a dedicated trim coat e.g Carpro Cquartz DLUX? (New black plastics trim, not faded)

It was "ok" on plastics and glass, but nothing great. It works better on paint, where it's still doing amazing on that surface. For plastics, I still prefer dedicated plastics coatings like CarPro DLUX, Gyeon Trim and Gtechniq C4.

You wouldn't use the Bilt Hamber for regular maintenance washes every week. When needed, to remove traffic film and heavier grime as a pre-wash in a foam cannon. CarPro Reset is a shampoo that you use on a regular basis. I use it twice weekly to wash my car.

Hi Pan - Had a question with regards to the graphene coatings. With graphene it obviously has the graphite in it making a hazy grey color. Does that have any impacts to a white color vehicle? I'm concerned that with the grey color of the graphene coating, it would leave a grey "tint/hue" to a white vehicle? Love your videos and thanks for your feedback!

There is zero impact on the color of paint, including white. When the product cures there is no color left behind. It's totally transparent.

I have a question, I have a 2011 Nissan Armada platinum that has black leather interior but in the front seats there is the platinum logo in white stitching. What would be the best was to clean the letters without damaging the leather? I've used an interior cleaner that helped but the passenger seat just "pops" more due to less use. Any help would be greatly appreciated, keep the helpful vids coming!

A fabric cleaner will do. But you normally leave those alone. Stitched logos are gentle you don't want to potentially damage the fabric strands. Apply a bit of fabric cleaner on a microfiber towel and gently agitate if needed.

When I'm doing paint prep and get to the clay bar decontamination stage. I use Adams Graphene Shampoo and the Adams Clay Mitt. I wet the car surface and liberally apply the Adams Graphene Shampoo directly to the Adams Clay Mitt. This works excellent for a clay mitt lubricant. CarPro is still my favourite consumer grade coating. It has always lasted 2 years in my testing, spot on with its durability claims. However, most new coatings last way longer, at least on paper. I still need more time with this Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating, as it's still fairly new to the market and nobody has had the chance to test it for 3, 4 or 5+ years yet.

Awesome video! Can I use the carpro reset to bring back the hydrofobicity of gyeon q2 fluorine infused wax?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
It depends what caused the loss of hydrophobicity. Reset alone can't always restore that. Reset is more of a weekly maintenance shampoo, to prevent traffic film buildup. If you already lost hydrophobic properties, there could be many reasons and variables to consider. Mistake in the installation? Bad prep? Bad batch of product? Clogged wax? You have to test different options and see. There is no miracle solution. Try Reset, and go from there. Cheers!

One thing I've been curious about with these 7-9 year ceramic coatings - if you have one of them on your car, does that mean you don't do any further paint decontamination or correction for the duration it's on? I'm so used to doing a decon/correct/seal once a year and I'm trying to wrap my head around this...

You still need to do basic maintenance. Iron remover once every 3-4 months, regular washing with a quality wax-free pH neutral shampoo, and apply a topper once every 2-3 months. But no claybar, no polishing. Those would damage the coating.

With your experience of both products, and performing maintenance washes, how does the Adam's Advanced Graphene compare to DuraSlic 1500 Xtreme, from a durability and maintenance perspective?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
For durability, it will take years before I can draw a definitive conclusion, as these are still fairly new to the market and nobody has had the chance to see them perform for 3+ years yet. So far so good for both. But it would be unfair to compare an expensive professional grade coating like the DuraSlic, to a consumer grade coating like the Adam's in my opinion. The DuraSlic seems to retain its hydrophobics better, and the Adam's gets 'clogged' a bit easier in winter months. Both come back great after a maintenance wash.

You don’t use an iron remover on a weekly basis. But once every 3-4 months yes it’s a good thing. By that point it will be time to reapply a fresh layer of your paint sealant anyways.

@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Super Clean is a bit harsh for regular use on automotive paint or coatings. You'll eventually weaken the coating. For regular maintenance, use a quality shampoo like Adam's Graphene Shampoo or CarPro Reset. As a pre-wash, you can use CarPro Lift in a foam cannon. Once every other month or at least when spring starts, you can do a full blown maintenance like in this video you just watched, or the one I did for my own Porsche: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYXEd3iVpZeCd9k

@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely use the Adam's Graphene Detail Spray on top of your Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating. But it's not designed for long term durability. So you'll have to use it more often. If you want something more durable as a topper, look into something like this: amzn.to/3M6YZ58
@alexstevens91442 жыл бұрын
I tend to do the detailer every other wash as I wash every other week. So it gets applied once a month. I'm just curious if that will help it last that full year+ durability rating. Also the si02 topper you sent, do you have to dispose of the microfibers after use like the ceramics? Or if you wash them right after use they are fine?
@PanTheOrganizer2 жыл бұрын
Yes the Adam's will help it reach its max durability if used at least once a month. And if you buy the Titan topper, no need to throw the towel away. Just wash after use, and reuse them.

Hard to say as I haven’t really tested those products on the H2O and haven’t used that product in a while now. Many years ago. It’s not as chemical resistant as a ceramic coating that’s for sure so if you see diminished water beading after the decon steps, just reapply a fresh layer.
