I think the #1 thing people can do to check & learn their own eyes is when you get done stand back & look in a mirror (and take a picture) and what do you see? Do you see depth, do you need to bring it up more, does your lid stand out, are your eyes going up, is the color too light? Keep playing with it until you see what surprises you. More of my application gets done at that point sometimes than any other!! Angie has had the benefit of years of videos & pictures to see what works, we can do the same thing with our cell phones and taking pictures (and deleting, omg if anyone ever saw some of mine..LOL!). This really does help, younger generations are used to taking pictures that's how they've learned we need to do the same.

Love this palette! Very helpful tips: up/down vs. the windshield wiper - I’ve been seeing the skipping too, so this will help! Also just pressing color instead of swiping it across, really makes a difference!

Would you consider doing an update on your favorite eye shadow palettes? Which ones have stood the test of time? Which ones do you keep reaching for on an every day basis and would never get rid of? I love your eye shadow tutorials. Nobody explains technique as well as you do!

You nailed it on the problems I have of applications. I end up putting to much on, and look ridiculous, because of the trying to get the stuff to go on...definitely having the skips, and etc. Thanks for a great tutorial. Love the look, and I’m a cool, so really want that palette!

I am loving this palette, but I’ll love it even more with your tips on application. It’s great that a light hand makes it suitable for day. And, I love the cool tones. Your eyeliner tips are really useful, but sometimes I wish my LED wall mirror was not wall-mounted.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Just received this palette from my Sephora sale purchase, and it can look bruise-y pretty easily. With the post-menopausal loss of fat pads and the addition of texture and fine lines, using makeup is not so simple as it once was (or maybe I always looked awful). I appreciate the tips for those of us attempting to age gracefully without looking too, too . . .

I bought that same set of Crystal Brushes from BH Cosmetics a year ago & Love them. They're great brushes & wash up beautifully. I need to get one of those makeup eraser pens. It's a much easier way for cleaning up the outer eye than the way I'm doing it now. I had to change how I was applying eyeshadow to my lids too, once my eyes became very hooded and folded. The windshield wiper application just didn't work as well as it used too. Love your eye look ❤️ I picked up a few pointers for doing the outer part of my eye from your great tutorial. Thanks so much and have a lovely week ❤️

*Thank you for your candor and showing us the way to beautiful shadowing and "re-a-lining" !!! I've had to face the fact that I'm aging and what was....is no longer in the same place and not just on my face LOL. I have always loved the soft focus look of dark shadow as my liner. The liquid liner was never my friend. You're a stunning woman and you wear it well !!!

Wow, you are spot on with the eye challenges. Liner takes so much practice and winged liner is a thing of the past unless I'm going to an event where wilder makeup is appropriate. I always have such bad fallout with Mar Jacobs.

I am going to do the up and down on lid vs windshield. What a great idea! I just filmed my first beauty vid and I also point out that when doing contour to go out to in so most deposits on outer corner vs inner. Us older gals need all the lift as possible lol. I like how you did upper water line. It really connects and fills in the white gap. For me, no matter what I use, the eyeliner ends up running into bottom and I have droopy eyes so I have to be careful. I love your channel!

Love the eye look. I just got my first Marc Jacobs eye-conic palette in Glambition. The colors are a bit warmer which is what I need. You are so right about the intensity of the colors. Even the lightest brown comes off quite dark if you don't use a light hand. I have been looking for the perfect smallish palette to take to Aruba this year and I think this is it. I also tried two Morphe blush palettes each with 3 colors. My fave is Rose and the colors can double as eyeshadows.

Angie, your site is a Godsend. I have been doing so many things wrong. I have very small eyes, and I'm wondering if the same eyeshadow technique you have used in this video applies to people with smaller eyelids. My "Canvases" are not as generous as yours! I also have a lot of hot flashes that literally cause me to break out in a sweat, and it melts my foundation! I don't know if there's any help for that? My daughter is getting married in May and I was convinced I need to have my make up professionally done. I still think that might be the way to go, but I'm learning a lot from your videos that can help me get more professional looks. Thank you for posting these helpful videos!!

Nice job! I love the clear contrast, your eyes are already somewhat deep set so accenting the lid is perfect, great job giving shade and lifting. I wonder if the Fenty eye primer is more like Covergirl (bit sticky) or Tarte (more silicone)? Thanks for sharing, we all appreciate you more than you know!! xo
@cindyp51325 жыл бұрын
Suggestion... For a more dramatic look put the silver shimmer on the lid 1st, then tap the white shimmer in the center to give the illusion of depth. Using NYX glitter glue on the center with the white will help it stay and be more pronounced. Also using the violet shade as the transition then the black (light hand, very SOFT flexible small brush) using it as the deeper outer V shade. Bottom lash line with the taupe halfway then a smaller tiny line closer to the lashes with the black or violet, center with a tiny line of the silver and finish with the white shimmer in the inner corner of the eye. It's graded that way and only put mascara on the outer portion of the bottom lashes.
