I really enjoy watching your videos. I am not a dairyman, but as a 75 yr. old farmer in Va. I have cut back a lot on what I use to do. Now I just concentrate on my 80 acres of orchard grass and fescue hay that I produce by myself . I bale both square and round bales of hopefully horse quality hay to sell locally. I want to make a safety suggestion to you and other farmers who might read this. I noticed in this video that you are wearing your wedding band. I use to wear my all the time. We’ve been married 52 years, but on March 15, 1996,I almost accidentally pulled my ring off. I was loading my nurse truck tank with liquid nitrogen to spray on my barley. As I jumped down off the side of the truck, my wedding band got hung on a bolt thread. When I jumped down, my finger was hung. I did not pull my finger off, but the ring ripped the skin loose and rolled everything down to the tendons. The hand surgeon took 4 hours to restore blood circulation, nerves, and attaching skin back together. After about 6 weeks of therapy and exercises on my finger, I was able to retain full use of my finger. I did not purchase a new wedding band until about 10 years after the accident. The original band was stretched into an oblong shape when it was pulled up to the first joint in my finger. Now I never wear my wedding band when I’m working! I wear it only for church or going out with my wife. Just be careful as you farm and make your great videos. They are very educational to all and they show what is really involved in being a farmer now days. You and your Dad be safe. Good luck to and your families in the future.

Please show us your baby boy even if it's just a picture. I like thar you show such confidence as you go about your work/chores and everything else. Saw an older video of you visiting the young man in Pennsylvania Dairy show. He expressed a lot of respect and admiration for your work and lifestyle. Smart young farmer. You have molasses on your farm. Throw 10 gallons into your sprayer with water. The molasses is a simple suger that will feed the bacteria and microbes in your soil. The soil web if managed properly will maximize yield.

@@8tomtoms8 He could also throw into the mix a gallon or two of the Alaskan Fish Emulsion Fertilizer. With all the cow manure he lays down on the fields. Oh Lord, I believe his soil would be teaming with an abundance of bacteria and microbe activity causing a symbiotic relationship between the minerals in the soil and the roots of the plants. I'm a firm believer of the Kiss Method. KISS = Keep it simple stupid. And less is better then more.

I'm blown away at how much chemicals/fertilizers/pesticides have gone up in price this year... I think it's so bad that there will be a lot of farms that don't even break even this year. The worst part is that I believe a lot of these manufacturers are raising their prices just because they can. They're taking advantage of the global economy and various issues happening around the world. Some of the manufacturers and the chemicals obviously had to increase in price, but not all and it's clear that those that didn't need to chose to just to be greedy. Anyway, I genuinely hope that it doesn't hurt you guys in the long run and it doesn't impact your bottom line. I think this whole situation is going to create some very inventive farmers and many will revert back to the old school ways to fertilize and old school methods to make pesticides on the farm. Stuff like this always drives innovation so it could be interesting to see what comes from it. Good luck to everybody, especially you and your dad, Eric! Thanks for sharing the video and keeping us up to date! 🙏
