Spring Fishing In The Pine Barrens

Spring fishing in the pine barrens. Spent the morning fishing a new lake in the new jersey pine barrens. No monsters at all but it was a productive day and it is always fun to explore new waters. I like fishing in the pine barrens because many of the lakes are very clear.
Fishing in the pine barrens is just different than fishing places like the Manasquan, or Round Valley, Spruce Run or Greenwood Lake.

I love pickerel. Small ones can get annoying when your catching them constantly but nothing beats catching a decent pickerel on a tough day. Bass and pickerel are both really fun fish.

i like to catch any fish that provides me with some nice action. Over the next 30 days, I will most likely catch some huge salt water bluefish. Some of the best fighting fish you can find. They will spin my kayak around in circles.... still a lot of guys hate catching them. No idea why.

the pines are fun for sure! so many places to fish but some of them are nothing but small pickerels. but trolling seems like a great way to kick off the season :) maybe i should troll a bit and see what's going on!

This one was narrow but a coupe of miles long. Selected it because of the wind that day. Thought it would help shelter me. Will fish those two large reservoirs we both know soon.

yeah i think i need to make my trip up too, but just waiting for the crappie migration to happen. gonna be some GIANTS ^_^
