We have the largest population of Vietnamese and Mung folks here in Minneapolis Minnesota. They are all at all the farmer's markets all over this area. Just a few years ago they purchases a good size tract of land near the hiway. They cleared the area and marked out equal plots each with a small shed building. Different families each have a plot and they do their own thing. They have some super old community tractors and equipment. All this trough a common goal vision and community spirit to be successful. For me I really like they are doing such a nice clean job on these plots. The American dream in action. Well bless y'all thank you for being here!!

New to your channel(Jess sent me, lol.) That ginger: Put it in better potting soil mixed with seed starting mix for maximum soil/moisture contact with the rhizome and keep it in a warm place where the soil is at least 70-80 degrees. Do this and within a week or two you'll get shoots sprouting off the main root. Once the shoots are 3"-4" tall, pull the rhizome out of the soil & snap the new plants off, transplant them to their own pots & put the original rhizome back in the soil to sprout more shoots. Ginger is a tropical plant, but it will grow almost anywhere. To get new plants from the rhizome you need to keep it tropical, i.e. warm & wet. I've been growing ginger from a store-bought root this year, and for $2 I've got 9 plants so far over a foot tall, and more on the way. Every little nub on the ginger root is a potential new plant, so I'm gonna milk my $2 for all it's worth.

And now, it will be 12 years in August! 4 babies and lots of moves but I can truly say it's gotten better with each passing day. ❤ when you know you know.

Looks like your fava beans have black fly. They are super common problem with fava. Black flys love the tender young parts. They spay off with the hose super easy. After the beans set pinch out the tops and there will be no more issues.

Definitely not late to the potatoe game! 🥰 I do usually 3 separate plantings. I am in zone 8a, and the main thing you have to worry about is just how long they take to mature. Then I staggered my plantings to get prolonged harvests. I dont even have my 2nd planting in the ground yet(goes in tomorrow) 😍🥰 Happy growing!

Ps. This truly has been the Year Of The Aphid for me this year. And it’s taken me supreme diligence. I go out at least three times a day and physically remove the aphids that want to take over my tomatoes. The darn things have sacrificial brassicas to munch on AND I grew nasturtiums just for them (which they’re ignoring). I have seen a couple of ladybugs but not enough to make a sizable dent.

tough garden spring for our zone. wet, cold .... definitely a time for us to grow as gardeners. I'm about 2 hours west of the boot heel of MO. Did you start the celery from seed? I'd love to do a full bed so I could dehydrate it. Nate, get a job on a riverboat. you'll be gone 21 days like my guy. LOL If you're lucky, she'll have most of the work done when you get off for 21 days. You are a good man and a beautiful couple. We are also an August couple - 37 years this year.
