Fun video! You're so industrious and creative with DIY solutions. For your garden next year, you might want to try winter sowing to grow hearty, low effort seedlings. Look for DIY videos on KZbin and you'll learn it's easy. Basically, you take empty gallon jugs, drill some holes for ventilation and drainage, and cut them horizontally while leaving a little connection. You fill them halfway with moist potting soil (not seed starting mix) and put your seeds in. Put a marker with the plant name inside the container and also write it on the outside. Duct tape around the horizontal cut and place the jugs (top OFF) in your garden. I start mine in early Feb and March for Virginia. Just leave them alone, and the rain and snow will flow through them. When Mother Nature says it's time, the seeds will germinate and grow. The kids would have fun watching (just look through the open top, don't untape). They'll grow inside the container and when you're ready to plant them, remove tape and let them sit for a day or two. Then plant and enjoy. It's an easy method that's fun to watch. Teaches patience too. You might want to consider growing a "salsa garden" with the kids. Plant basil, onions, peppers, and tomatoes all separate. After you harvest them all, you can easily make your own salsa.

Love the door makeover, the new floral living room curtains and the Easter centerpiece reminding us that Jesus’ resurrection is the reason for Easter! 💗🙏 I would definitely have chosen those curtains! 💕🌷 I’m also a novice gardener but am giving container gardening a whirl this year. 🌱 One thing I recently learned is that for seed storage, you want to store them in a cool, dry space and even add those moisture absorbent little things that often come in packages. This helps to keep the seeds fresh year to year. 🌿 The spring flowers are beautiful! 🌼🌻 Thanks for sharing! Many blessings to you and your family! 💕☀️

When our children were young we always kept a small vegetable garden and they loved it. Somewhere in all of my pictures there are pictures of them sitting at the edge of the garden with a garden hose, picking, washing, and eating baby carrots before they even made it to the house. Also, with the wild flowers, Dollar Tree sells the seeds in boxes. Sprinkle the seeds generously all along your tree line or any bare areas where you want to add some color. It took ours a couple of years before they really took off, but when they did, they came back year after year more bountiful than the years before. PS...Love the curtains!

What a particularly wonderful video. Being Canadian, I really identified with your joy at spring finally rolling back around. FYI I have the same vintage floral print that you put up in the living room. My mother had a couple from that series in her bedroom (that she bought way back before they became vintage :) ) so i have fond memories of them. When I saw some around the antiquing scene, I snapped them up and now have three in my own bedroom.

Hi love everything you done. We here in Texas be very busy outside same thing your doing. I clean off the patio yesterday got all new plants. We even had to replace some bushes that we loss this year. Refresh the whole outside it needed. We did paint the fence and the trim on the house last year. We do have a doggie run and that fence needs painting it’s not as big as our fence in our yard so hopefully we will get that done soon. 😀😀😀

oohhh, Those curtains are right up my alley, I have the english cottage look in my house. I knew that gardening bug was going to get you soon with all the nice land you have ! Chickens may be in your future at some point ? I find that gardening is a little different each year and some things that are a home run one year aren't great the next but its always fun to try. There are quite a few I grow from seed but give up with others and just buy starts. I just finished processing last years tomatoes from the freezer today! Your house looks so fresh and pretty for spring, great video thank you for sharing~ hugs from PA!

I did the Jiffy seed-starting set this week, too. I've used it before, and had success. After making a special trip to the crowded Wal-Mart to get it, I later found a similar kit at my rural Dollar General. Also, DG had a small variety if seeds for 50 cents/pack. (Edited) Meant to add...Be careful where you plant those cherry tomatoes. You'll have them FOREVER. It's a lifetime commitment.🙂

The new curtains look so beautiful! I've never managed to keep the rest of my rooms neutral enough to be able to put up patterned window coverings yet but that may have to change lol. The sunroom is a lovely space! Our last house had two sunporches, one on the front and one on the back. The one on the back we insulated and upgraded the windows and we used it as a family TV room and the front one was our main entrance. It was a nice place to stamp off snow and ice before coming into the kitchen and a beautiful space for fresh flowers and seasonal touches. I miss them dearly😊
