I gave my hive some foundationless frames a week or so ago and I just checked them. Two of the frames are drawn with almost completely drone comb and one frame is filled with drone brood of all ages. I panicked until I saw a couple full frames of worker brood. My question is what do I do with a frame full of drones? Should I just let them be? Feed them to the chickens? Move them to the outside of the box in hopes the bees use them for storage after the drones emerge?

Hi Randy, Thanks for the great videos, I've always loved bees and one day hope to keep them. I've been wondering for a while, what does the name 628DirtRooster mean regarding bees? Keep Safe All, Peace, Happiness, Love and Laughter Always, Matt

I was watching my girls comin' and goin' today and i SWEAR i saw pollen in some of them legs. There are willow trees not far from my hives and I've heard they bloom sooner than the maples around here (PA). Anyway, last year I caught 2 swarms and it was a hoot. Free bees!! I still wanna see a feral hive in a tree in the woods someday.

Interesting. Willows will grow down here but they aren't native so if you see one someone planted it which means there are all that many. I planted one twenty years ago and it's still only twelve feet tall.

What is your favorite honey? I was raised on Utah’s Yacks honey. Clover and alpha with a few wildflowers and prickly pears thrown in. Perfect honey.
