I especially liked the b-roll at the end of the bees cleaning up the cone. I could watch that for hours with good music accompaniment.

small bits of advice like looking for the queen on the hive first and then checking the comb in hand really shows you are an expert and a great teacher too. every video you produce is quality content, you've never disappointed me.

Bernard did a fabulous job. I was just telling Tommy today how surprised I was that he wasn't jumpy like most people get when they're new to beekeeping. I bet he used to be a fighter.

Was watching your new video, laid the phone down and this one started playing. I'd watched it earlier but was caught by the beauty of your coastal sunrise. Hard to describe how much I miss that!! I'm just amazed at how long the bees stay in that subdued mode after being exposed to the smoke, so much so that you can pick them up and not get stung. Even the queen didn't fuss when snatched up & put in the clip!

As a “normal” and healthy 72 yr. old man, I’m not going to tell you what that going some place and forgetting why is the beginning of. It’s perfectly normal and you’ll learn to fake it. Just pick something up on those little trips and smile at everybody. Half of them are faking it too.

Hey Rooster, great video! Loved that while you were teaching, the rest of us got some tips that are so natural to you - you would never think to mention them. You just do it. Like how to get your fingers in far enough to grab comb and get it out, without overly upsetting bees, or getting stung. Usually, at least! This video was just a great how to - with an example of someone's attempt before that totally failed. Stay safe! PS Loved your music choice and when you used it - you'd make a great DJ!

Another good video. I just wanted to say thanks for all the videos on your channel. This is my first year beekeeping after 2 yrs of contemplating. I got my first box of bees about a month ago that I removed from an old FEMA trailer and my first swarm catch today in a bait box that had been out for less than 48 hrs. Thanks again, bro.

Good video!!! When you teach others the techniques needed to do a removal, you answer a lot of questions that come up during your removals. Something simple as how to grab the comb and how to vaccume. Thank you for posting!

I admire how you always repair before you leave . I am hoping to start a hive next spring here in Southern Indiana. I live next to a state forest and my neighbors have tried but their bees swarmed away not sure what they did wrong if anything but trying to learn as much as possible before I start my hive. After seeing how you spotted the queen on this one standing 6 feet away and how you spotted the queen on the removal with JP and Schawee from 6 feet away, I'm thinking that's your nitch. Who needs to find the queen when she's on a piece of comb in your hand if you can spot her 6 feet away. I've almost forgotten what a cut out is it's been so long since I've done one, great to see you'r still wrangling. God's peace brother.

Hoping for some help and advice. You were skilled and lucky enough to spot and capture the queen. What if I am using a beevac and cannot spot the queen. Will using the beevac on the queen kill her. Or is spotting the queen during this removal the key part of its success. Thanks

Glad to see you're doing well! I'm curious about that one hive up on what look like railroad ties. Usually those ties are treated with creosote, which is also an insecticide. Reading up, there's a lively debate as to whether it's healthy for the bees to have their hive right on top of them... could that be having a negative effect on that hive?
