I'm Farrah from bookstalgic and I have rediscovered my love of reading again in my 40s. :)
I enjoy finding time to squeeze my love of reading into my busy life of work and family. I love taking lots of walks in nature to try to appreciate all that I can each day.
Favorite genres: it's mixed bag of Classics, Sci-Fi, Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery/Thriller, Classic Horror (not too scary lol), Nature/Environment, Non-fiction, Health, Religon, History and Speculative/Paranormal Romance
On my channel, you'll find cozy/chill reading vlogs that highlight some of the natural beauty I see outside on my daily walks around our farm.
I try to post 2 vlogs per month as well as a reading wrap up at the end of each month (I sometimes get behind, though!) :)
I hope you enjoy my channel and thank you so much for stopping by!

The magic of our part of the world! All green in this blog while there was snow in the last one! 😂 I’m still amazed by all the beautiful different seasons we have! ❤

You are so right! It always feels like a switch if flipped one day and winter has turned to spring (and these past few days it's really felt like summer). It really is so hard to believe we had all that snow last month! I love our change of seasons too! :)

Thank you, Pat and I'm so glad you enjoyed the different natuer scenes! I'm already feeling much better since filming that in terms of the channel and I think I'm just going to skip the reading events for a few months and be more relaxed and spontaneous about my videos and not worry so much if I get a video up or not. Thank you so much for your kind words and support - it really means a lot! :)

@@bookstalgic That makes perfect sense! Read what you want to read and make the videos that you want to make. ALL of your videos are exquisite. They are really works of art. Make the ones that you want to make on the books--or whatever--that you want to focus on. I always know that whatever I watch from you is going to be magnificent and just filled with your spirit. You don't need to participate in events, or if you choose to, then just do the parts that bring you joy.

Thanks, J! I agree, the long winter really makes us appreciate the green and the flowers so much after not seeing it for so long! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in the audiobooks. I seem to be ok if it's general fiction or romance, but anything that is more complicated, I can't catch every detail and I keep losing my place in the story!

Incredible how the eyes shine at night. So lucky to see the Northern Lights, we missed it despite staying up till 2am, it was just to cloudy and overcast. So sorry you are feeling slumpy, I recommend short stories, comics, graphic novels... that might work! I enjoy Harry Potter but the books more then the movies!

I live in northern Westchester County and unfortunately there was too much cloud cover to see the northern lights. But there's always next time! I love your vlogs as they put me in a very tranquil state, rather like a visual meditation:) Sounds like you need to get rid of that "New York" thing, putting pressure on yourself to do it all. You're not in competition with anyone or anything. Just do what you do best.

I'm getting the benefits of the great narration and sound effects, but not missing anything. It's fun! I haven't read Alias Grace yet, but I'll put it on my list! Such a stunning video as always! I wanna pet the horsey!! The bee 🫣 i swear they have a contract on me 😅 our jays haven’t showed up this year! They used to just hang out in our tray feeder and go to town (too big for the hanging feeder) and are usually one of the first birds to come back but I still haven’t seen a single one. Omg Bambi!! 😍😍 what kind of camera do you use? I’d love to get some pictures and video of the more shy birds and sneaky bunnies. Handmaids Tale is just crazy to me. I’m very curious about Night Circus! I’ve heard about it a lot but I always wonder if it’s really good or folks are just afraid to go against the grain and say something bad about something popular. Audiobooks sound so amazing but I’m always like you are atm, I struggle to focus on em. Ooh the lights are beautiful! Sorry I missed it, but I will live vicariously through your videos! The flowers are gorgeous as well. Mary is so cute! And snuggling with her friend! 😍 You look after you and us and our videos if you want to will still be here when you’re feeling less overwhelmed. BookTube is supposed to be fun, not a stressful I have to watch/film job 😊

Thanks, Kat!! Wow, I hope the Jays come back! We usually have them all year round so I see (and hear their squawk) all day long it seems. I've heard people complain that they are bullies at the feeder, but mine seem ok, every once in a while they chase off the smaller sparrows, but there's way more of them so the jays are outnumbered :) For the trail camera, we have a Wosports Trail Cam (it's about $59 on Amazon) and I'm surprised by how good it works! The first time I used it, I put it by the cat dish and saw how many times my cats got up and wondered around in the middle of the night, lol. So far, The Night Circus wasn't blowing me away, I'll be honest, but hopefully I can get back into it soon! Thank you so much for your kind and sweet support, I really appreciate it! :):)
