My mother lived on the street when they filmed this and my grandmother was paid by the crew for the use of her toilet and kettle. On the later scenes filmed round the canal my grandad would be walking to work from prestolee to little lever in the morning and would pass James Mason and say good morning. That's so they could get the early morning mist
