That dog it a true gem of a dog. You can already tell he is going to be a companion for life. He is in the moment, loyal, wise, calm and a active listener (to you). You are blessed Joe to have a dog of that sort. Thanx for the adventure, always a pleasure to watch.

I've been watching you for a few years now, and I have to say thank you for sharing these adventures. When I was a kid, my dad and I would go fishing & camping at least once a month. It was my favorite times until he got sick and couldn't go anymore since he was stuck in the hospital. I've gone camping since he passed, but haven't done any fishing myself yet. Your videos give me a sense of peace and nostalgia, remembering those impactful times out on the boat with my dad. You also inspire me to keep enjoying nature, to be unafraid to try new things, and to be capable. I never even heard of the term 'bushcrafting' before finding your channel, now I think about it daily. Thank you for documenting nature in such a beautiful, inspiring way

Thanks Joe! 34 years ago I fell in love with the Sand River and I wanted to canoe that river. Unable to find any one to go at the time and then I got old and a bit out of shape. I thought I would never see what that river looked like canoeing it! I was so happy to live the adverure through you!!!

Agree. Wolfie needs an emergency recall signal that is not allowed to be ignored. Wolfie seems to ignore "just crying Wolf". He did stay in the canoe in spite of the tempting pair of moose babies, but I could feel the tension. If Wolf had jumped out to investigate, the missing mama moose could have quickly dispatched Wolfie. An effective emergency recall signal could save his life some day.

Great work on this one, Joe - well paced and some really nice shots. Watching you with Wolfie is something special to watch - you two are like peas in a pod. He's getting so comfy in the boat and his recall is surprisingly good. It was a special treat to have you guys stumble upon us at our campsite - sorry we didn't have our makeup on just yet ;) It's a good thing I was dressed at all that early in the morning! Thanks so much for the shout out - you're a fabulous ambassador for the outdoors and always looking to help others out...especially shuttling us down the logging road so that we didn't have to hike down the trail! Until the next one, Joe!!

Poor wolfly still getting fish bones. Fish bones are small, brittle, and dangerous. They can lodge themselves in your dog's mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines, sometimes even perforating the organ wall. Not only is this painful, it can also result in an expensive visit to the veterinarian. Please be careful Joe. Wolfly is a wonderful sweet great companion, he is your loyal friend. Please be careful Joe. Please keep him safe.

@@anysep3361 no it's an internal parasite. They carry a bacteria that is toxic to dogs. They can cause liver failure in dogs. 90% of dogs infected will die without immediate vet care. Cooking the meat kills the parasite. That's why it's good that the dog didn't eat the raw fish

Joe, spray Wolf's collar and bag/harness with a significant amount of bug spray and let it dry before putting it on him. I use Ben's permethrin because it also repels ticks. It really helps reduce the amounts of bites that they get while out in the wild.

Order some Cactus Juice and see if that helps him. Its all natural and repels bugs wonderfully. They use it on horses that are being swarmed by biting flies and such. I use it first and foremost for myself. And when I spray my dog I just cover his eyes and as as much of his nose as I can get. He isn't fond of the smell but the bugs leave him alone. And its fine for the environment. Discovered it on a dive trip and found it in lotion form and had spf 30 to boot and was safe to use with your wet suit too. Now I use the spray form more often. I'm not an affiliate and make nothing from this recommendation. I pay full price for my own supply. I just believe in this stuff! Check it out! And yup I believe you have finally found another fantastic adventure dog! Happy Camping!
